Even simpler than that is to quietly sink every tanker that tries to leave Iran. As soon as they pass Oman let ‘er rip. The Israelis already have at least one sub in the hood that could get it done. Boy would that start a bellyache fest. But if the Irans are sending uniformed geniuses to the north Israel border they are begging for a serious hit(s).
Easier, yes. But those ships are owned (and manned) by other countries. Create too much of a stink. Think WWI.

True. But, the U.S. should’ve never let the Shah be overthrown by a vengeful mullah who couldn’t tell you if there was protein in oats & nuts & who had a clear history of agitating against a monarch who was pro America & completely against commies in iran. Instead he was called a ‘saint’ by the U.S. President at the time, and not only helped bring terrorists to kill and rule a country of utmost geopolitical importance in the region, but also pushed iran into the arms of USSR & now russia & china.
If the mess inside iran is the fault of those iranians who were stupid. The mess in that region is the fault of the U.S. for which there seems to be no real solution for over 35 yrs.
