Brutal crime: Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier has been charged with killing her newborn baby by setting her ablaze on Friday night on Simontown Road in New Jersey
The woman accused of dousing her newborn daughter with WD40, setting her on fire and leaving her in the middle of a road to die has made her first court appearance on a murder charge.
Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier, 22, did not enter a plea during a hearing Tuesday in Mount Holly. But the 22-year-old Pemberton Township woman said she planned to soon hire an attorney.
The judge maintained her $500,000 bail, which was set after police found the baby in flames on Friday night in the middle of a residential road.
Dorvilier was found with a can of WD-40 and a lighter in her jacket pocket, and the baby suffered third-degree burns over about 60 percent of her body, investigators said in court documents released by Burlington County prosecutors on Tuesday.
The baby still had an umbilical cord and placenta attached, investigators said.

Oh please. The "motive" was to get rid of the newborn. Millions of women do the same thing, except they usually don't burn them alive in the street. Instead, they have a "doctor" dismember the child while still in the womb, inject it with saline solution, or have the base of its skull split open and its brains sucked out while it is still squirming and trying to survive.
I expect she will get a minimum sentence for this horrific crime. If she is guilty, then abortion (even late term abortion) is wrong. They will blame her evil acts on "post-partum depression." Another case of "not guilty by reason of ovaries."

This was way too dramatic to just be "getting rid of it." This was hatred at the psycho level, and I'm betting it was a message to the father of the baby, too.

She was simply having a do-it-yourself, late-term abortion. I see no difference.
There are so many who seem to have no souls. They have no conscience and their eyes show it - windows to a dead soul.
She is 22 years old, so it was obvious she could drive. The place where she tortured the newborn and where she lived were very close, and in the same town.
The road wasn't main street, but a back road that can be very dark. It just so happened that when she lit the baby on fire, another couple pulled up in their car and asked what she was doing.
Yes, a better "plan" (if we can call this evil that), would have been to truck herself and her newborn 1/2 mile into the nearby forest and murder the child there. Perhaps she couldn't be bothered with that?
