I do understand your frustration, as I don’t really care about football and so I just go elsewhere when he talks about it to excess.
He is so erudite on “issues” that I wish he would indeed stick to them! That is where he is strongest, and we love him for it!
So I guess I am one of those “Stick to the issues’ people as well.
:-)
I don't think he can criticize Obambi for not having the proper perspective on world events (death of King Abdullah, downfall of Yemeni leaders, snubbing of Netanyahu, etc.) when he gives more weight to NFL issues than to things that will likely have a much more devastating bearing on life in America than football.
Besides, if he's going to ridicule the "stick-to-the-issues crowd," he's fair game for us to strike back.
For the record, I still love Rush. I'm not going anywhere. But I am going to fuss when I believe there's something to fuss about.
And the major reason for his craziness is while he continuously calls Rush, Hannity and others names almost on a daily basis, THEY IGNORE HIM and don't even mention his name.........LOL!
My thoughts are posted at #26. But if you don’t want to engage now, I’ll check back next week to see what your thoughts are on the comparison between the content on Rush’s shows vs. the content on Mark’s in the same time span covering the same news period.
I haven’t listened to Rush in a couple years. I don’t miss him, he was always a couple days behind the curve.
I also don’t watch prime time Fox News any more. Cavuto, Special Report and the business programs are all I can handle.
I cut out Glenn Beck after he went ape shit against Newt Gingrich in 2012.
I have been happier since I got rid of these irritants, and FR points me to all the news I can digest.
I quit listening when I discovered FR.
His first 10 years were amazing because no one was saying what he was saying. I remember going to restaurants where he was playing(Rush Rooms).
Didn’t know that. What a blow for him. Way too young.
I didn't hear Mark's show until I took my dogs to the park yesterday afternoon. That's when it struck me how opposite their content was, so I wanted to post about it. (BTW, I'm guessing that the resistance I'm getting on this thread is from FReepers who didn't even listen to that brief portion of Mark's show that I recommended.)
If you're not comfortable weighing in, feel free to leave the thread and come back when you think an acceptable amount of time has passed. But at least do me the courtesy of reading all my posts before deciding where you think I'm coming from. I am comfortable speaking about this today and will continue to do so until the subject has been exhausted or until I feel like I've had my say.
I don't know what it is but I've been listening to Rush since around 1990 and for whatever reason, Rush, Snerdley and H.R. were kinda like an extended family. I was on the road today when Rush came on and shared the tragic news. I couldn't help but shed some tears as I'm doing right now. Of course you feel sadness for the family of H.R. but especially the heart break that Rush must be feeling right now.........
For anyone who has listened to Rush for all these years, if there's one thing to be said about him, HE CHERISHES HIS FRIENDS.
There have been several occasions where close friends of his have passed away, William F. Buckley being the most noteworthy. Invariably he would spend the first hour of his program eulogizing them, bringing them down to earth and trying to describe them in terms that all of us can relate to.........
And if I'm not mistaken, several years ago friends of Rush's lost their child and Rush was there for them........
RIP H.R., we will all miss you.........
But he did touch on the very important and so far not widely publicized, (except for by Weiner a/k/a Savage) story of the spread of disease through medically unprocessed but widely dispersed illegal aliens. It needs to be front and center.
I believe Rush paid for Mark’s heart surgery when Mark was struggling. Suffice it to say, I think Mark would take a bullet for Rush. The only surprising thing to me is that Mark still takes ads for Sharri’s Berries. After they ditched Rush over Sandra Fluke, I’d have thought Mark would freeze them out. I’m sure Rush gave his blessing to keeping them on.
Thanks for posting that link, now we have a physical identity for an individual who we’ve never seen but always heard about..........
What I noticed in this sentence was the three "I's" and your "MY".......
It ain't about YOU CB, you're just one listener out of 5 million......so get over your self importance.
For some years before Levin had a program Rush would take calls from him during breaks, off the air, and come back with some legal insight or opinion, then cite “F. Lee Levin, EIB Chief Legal Counsel.”
Levin (not my favorite radio host) seems a pretty loyal guy and I always figured he went to get Rush’s blessing before venturing out on his own.
Be interesting to know the story.
Just curious, who is saying what he's saying now?
Sean Hannity, Beck for a while, Savage for a while, Levin. There have been plenty of coattail hangers.
"For a while?".....so what's the problem?
