It looks like we agree on at least one thing.
My guess is Huckabee will not be a factor in the upcoming primaries.
>>If that bothers you to the point that youd say, Id never vote for you, he told an audience in Virginia, then youre never going to vote for me. <<
I’m never going to vote for you.
Then he will never get my vote.
a fellow who had quite a few good things to contribute, but this sure ain’t one of them!
shame
It looks like we agree on at least one thing.
ditto
Its not about punishing someone who had nothing to do with breaking the law... it has everything to do with removing future incentives for the parents to break the law.
You are already excluded from consideration, Huck. You can’t get any more excluded.
Huckabee got elected as governor by making a deal with black pastors. He’d let a gang of black murderers out of jail, and in return they’d bus their parishioners to the polls and vote for him.
One of the released murderers went out west and murdered several cops, without provocation. And many of the others returned to their lives of crime.
Huckabee shrugged.
>>Explain to me, then, how Huckabee ends up taking a beating for his position when itll be, at worst, the overwhelming consensus view of the field and, at best, a comparatively restrained approach when people like Walker and Rubio are up there making the case for citizenship for everyone. <<
They all suffer from the delusion that amnesty will get them Latino votes.
As for people “being punished for what they did not do,” I have two answers:
1) The PARENTS are being rewarded for what they DID do, since that was part of their intention in breaking our laws.
2) Children ALWAYS suffer or benefit from their parents’ actions. Someone who commits a crime will have removal of their income and incarceration, resulting in poverty and lack of parentage for the children. So, we should ignore bank robbery like obozo is ignoring violating our immigration laws?
He is running for the thrill of running, nothing further.
As the husband of a lady who is going through immigration the correct way, the only thing the government should be doing (if anything) is to allow DREAMer kids to get in line like everyone else with no penalty, unlike illegal alien adults, who should face a penalty for not following the law.
God save us from compassionate conservatives.
America cannot AFFORD home grown dreamers much less people arriving here WITH nothing but a dream and NO intention of assimilating.
What part of this VERY OBVIOUS problem do these politicians NOT GET?
We need a MORITORIUM on immigration right now.
We can revisit the conversation AFTER the US returns to a stable and prosperous society.
For Liberals to create social discord and hobble the economy WHILE they roll out the welcome mat for all and sundry BECAUSE it’s SO great here ... is laughable!!
The more money and time this fool wastes on his presidential delusions of grandeur the better.
But that is for people that want to come here legally and become a productive American.
DREAM'rs are those who want all the benefits without the work or even becoming American citizen.
So much for the argument that they only come here to do the jobs Americans won’t do. They apparently are here to do the college educated professional jobs that Americans are out of work looking for themselves.
And the illegal immigrants get in state tuition that is denied other legal Americans who happen to be from other states. Discrimination suit ready if it was ever brought to court.
There’s already a path. Go back where you came form, take your kids with you, apply for Citizenship, work to become Naturalized, “Welcome to America”.
I propose we stop calling it a “path” to citizenship, and start calling it a “pipe”. That way, people like Huckabee can be called out as “pipeDREAMers”.
