correction appearing in the New York Times quietly unravels what has become a major story as phony agitprop, intended to discredit the leaders of Israel and the House of Representatives. Of course, the story is still believed by many, and has well served those in the White House and media who created and disseminated it. Omri Ceren spotted the correction and explained on Twitter:

Did Boehner come out and say he informed the White House before extending the invitation?
How is that relevant? The correction states that Bibi didn't accept until the admin had been informed.
Perhaps the better question is how the story started that the WH was "blindsided".
If true, why isn’t Boner shouting this from the mountaintops and every news organization he can find?
The article make it clear....Obama did not mind the last time Netanyahu spoke in 2011, they never even replied to Boehner when he informed them back then...so why is it a big deal now........pure Chicago politics

But we started watching recently, and it comes across to me as totally believable and representative of the nasty behind-the-scenes behavior of these despicable human beings in D.C. (and local state houses, as well...)
The backstabbing, blackmailing, misleading and outright falsehoods in phony bills and amendments that are subsequently removed after misleading voters, the pressures and double-dealing with friends and foes on both sides of the aisle...
My guess is that HOC is closer to a 'reality show' than any of the other scripted trainwrecks that appear on TV under in that category.
It's relevant because the WH was whining that Boehner hadn't followed "protocol". Boehner needed to call that a lie. Did he?

OK the WH knew in advance and lied about it. Obama ROE #1, lie. But still, the One didn't give his blessing. Who is Congress, or anyone, to act without the blessing of The One.
That’s true. I guess I’d just rather see the obamites called out for their lies.
If the Obama administration really didn't want Netanyahu to speak to Congress, they could simply refuse to let him enter the country.
i read that Boehner did clarify the notification on 60 Minutes. i think it is important that Dear Leader be called out on each and every lie, violation of law, distortion, misstep etc. not that it will be covered in the leftie media establishment - but it should be done.
Gee, I am a little disappointed that the WH conjured up
this controversy. For a minute I thought Boehner had
grown enough balls to stand up to the POSIC a-hole for
once and returned the same disregard bestowed on
Congress.
Boner probably enjoyed being considered a tough guy for a few days. Still, if Obama has been posturing and lying as usual, Boner should have exposed him from the first. This charade has been a major story for more than a week.
Who believed the lie in the first place?
