Vaccine Critics Turn Defensive Over Measles

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Their children have been sent home from school. Their families are barred from birthday parties and neighborhood play dates. Online, people call them negligent and criminal. And as officials in 14 states grapple to contain a spreading measles outbreak that began near here at Disneyland, the parents at the heart of America’s anti-vaccine movement are being blamed for incubating an otherwise preventable public-health crisis.

Measles anxiety rippled thousands of miles beyond its center on Friday as officials scrambled to try to contain a wider spread of the highly contagious disease — which America declared vanquished 15 years ago, before a statistically significant number of parents started refusing to vaccinate their children. In recent days, new measles cases popped up in Nebraska and Minnesota, New York and Marin County in California. Officials around the country reported rising numbers of patients who were seeking shots, as well as some pediatricians who were accepting non-vaccinated families but were debating changing their policies. The White House urged parents to listen to the science that supports inoculations...

Scientists have been imprisoned for violating the “paradigm”. Eugenics is the prevailing paradigm. You haven’t been critical enough of your teachers.

What about polio? In the 50’s it was still a serious problem, but you would be OK if they never vaccinated for it, right? Just let the children get polio and get over it naturally.

Very funny...however what about immigrants from Africa that eat bats? There is no vaccine for Ebola! There are cultural, hygenic, and other concerns about illegals that go far beyond immunizations.

You would be assuming incorrectly -
Since I’m closer to 50 now than 40, I bet I did see kids with the measles growing up, I may have even shared a home with two of them. I’m still not sure why the boys got some things, and I got others. I might know someone paralyzed by the oral polio vaccination when she was 10. Unfortunately, she died of lung cancer a couple of years ago...she didn’t realize there was something serious going on because of the paralysis.

I was vaccinated as a kid and later in college, but I’m still not immune and had to be careful of who I was around when pregnant...I understand the risks, of both the diseases and the manufactured “cure”.

You’re an infidel. Baal needs human defenders. Just ask Elijah.

Here in the U.S. most of the “herd” is vaccinated. No problem for the un-vaccinated, until a outbreak.

The vaccination rates in Mexico and the US are almost identical thus meaning that the probability that an illegal immigrant child from Mexico has approximately the same chance of having measles as America child.

Oh good grief, there are untold thousands of people in Mexico who have no idea of what a doctor is.

And those little girls were not fit: carrying inferior genes. We need to cull the herd. We should abort all black babies while we’re at it.

What is funny about reality? I did state in a subsequent post the the primary vector could also have originate from other that South American origins, but in the end, the most likely source is an illegal immigrant.

5 deaths in 15 years from measles, and none since 2005 - according to the CDC. However there have been 140 *329 since 1989* deaths after the MMR vaccination.

You’re right though, death is forever.

You are correct. People who don’t vaccinate their kids put everyone else at risk. Outrageous.

I know what you mean. It is difficult to raise kids in these days we live in with all of the dangers (diseases, immunizations, immorality, etc.) Like I said earlier, I am not against medicine...I just pray first before going to the hospital. The only confidence I have is that God protected his people and their children long before the first vaccination was invented...

Deuteronomy 7:15 - And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest , upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

Is it possible that my children could get a disease, yes. But I will still pray first and medicine 2nd...

Well, if it’s so contagious, and I’m not immune I would assume that we would both get sick from it - but we wouldn’t get it again.

In the Spanish language learning series, “Destinos” - this segment filmed in Mexico - a Mexican doctor taking a patient’s temperature reads the thermometer, then simply puts it back in his lab coat pocket. Already for the next patient.

Pretty high standards alright.

I don’t vaccinate my daughter either...we’ve talked about we may not always have the choice, but I’d rather have the real diseases and get forever immunity anyway.

Do you feel the same way about polio? Just rather your daughter get the REAL disease?

During the late 50’s and early 60’s twice as many children in the US died from measles as from polio.
