When future generations look back on the global-warming scare of the past 30 years, nothing will shock them more than the extent to which the official temperature records – on which the entire panic ultimately rested – were systematically “adjusted” to show the Earth as having warmed much more than the actual data justified. Two weeks ago, under the headline “How we are being tricked by flawed data on global warming”, I wrote about Paul Homewood, who, on his Notalotofpeopleknowthat blog, had checked the published temperature graphs for three weather stations in Paraguay against the temperatures that had originally been recorded. In each instance, the actual trend of 60 years of data had been dramatically reversed, so that a cooling trend was changed to one that showed a marked warming. This was only the latest of many examples of a practice long recognised by expert observers around the world – one that raises an ever larger question mark over the entire official surface-temperature record.

I see an analogy with political implications in the current concerns over vaccines. “The science is settled.”
Well, with vaccines, it is pretty much settled in the general case, but not so much in the particular. For “good” vaccines, the risk of vaccination is smaller than the risk of the disease. HPV might be a “bad” vaccine, and I’ve read that there are questions as to the worth of the routine flu vaccination. But I think almost everyone could agree that the reward outweighed the risk with polio and smallpox.
Leftists would like to transfer that discussion to global warming, by claiming the science is settled, and that compulsory behavior dictated by the latest opinions on how to go about combating it must be force on all.
Lying in the guise of “making a difference”, and advancing the cause of progressivism has become completely acceptable and socially desirable behavior among academics, scientists, politicians, and the news media. They present themselves to be the elite and deserving of both power and fortune and because they have proclaimed that their political philosophy is morally superior to all others, they deserve everything they get and have global sanction to lie, deceive, and cheat.
OMG! Global warming really is caused by man (fiddling with the temperature records).

We're in the age where the MSM is so corrupt, the fight for liberty needs to start against them though peacefully, and the academia that has indoctrinated so many of these people to be pro-statist and anti-liberty.

If you want to see the corruption of Global Warming data happening in Real Time, you can do so with a quality thermometer and a smartphone.
Set up your thermometer in an appropriate location, out of direct sunlight and away from any obvious sources of heat, such as buildings, chimneys, black pavement, or HVAC condensing units.
Then open the Weather App on your smart phone and check your local temperature. It is quite likely that, if it is a sunny day, the temperature on your smart phone will be 2 - 3 degrees F higher than the termperature on your thermometer.
Since the temperature on your smart phone is coming from a local weather station, that is the data that is being used to “confirm” global warming. As you can see, by simple experimentation, the data is biased high.
Then, as you go about your daily business, whenever you see a thermometer on a bank sign or on a doorway, whip out your smartphone and see how high the weather station data is at that location. You will see that the weather station data runs a couple degrees high, time after time, in location after location.
Is it bias or is it carelessness in the way the weather stations are set up? It is hard to say. But by setting up a weather station in the direct sunlight or some other warm location, a technician can generate data that supports the proposition of global warming, and thus do his small part to save the planet. People are always eager to tell the noble lie.
Is this true, and if so, is it an isolated instance?
