Marriage Equality Is Coming To America This June ("Gay Marriage")
BuzzFeed News ^ | February 9, 2015 | Chris Geidner

If there was any doubt left, Justice Clarence Thomas ended it on Monday morning.

The United States Supreme Court will end discrimination against same-sex couples this June — and even justices who oppose the coming decision appear to know it’s going to happen.

On Monday morning, Justice Clarence Thomas made explicit what had been growing apparent to observers for months: The court — at least a majority of the justices — has made up its mind on the issue of whether the U.S. Constitution bars states from treating same-sex couples differently than opposite-sex couples in marriage laws.

In denying the Alabama attorney general’s request to keep a U.S. district court order that strikes down Alabama’s ban on same-sex couples’ marriages on hold while the state appeals, the Supreme Court — even as it considers marriage cases out of four other states — made it clear that the justices will not stop same-sex couples from marrying in the meantime when a judge strikes down a ban.

The cases the Supreme Court has agreed to hear — Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee — come out of the one federal appeals court that said bans on marriages for same-sex couples are constitutional.

Since October 2014, when the justices decided not to hear cases from five states where the appeals courts had struck down the bans as unconstitutional, the justices have denied requests to keep marriage rulings on hold during appeals.

Court observers, including BuzzFeed News, see these decisions as a signal of the court’s direction. But the court had given no reason for denying the stay requests — leaving people guessing.

Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange’s request, however, was the first stay application to reach the justices since they had agreed to hear the cases out of the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. Some — including Strange and Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley — had hoped the court would treat stay requests differently now that it had taken up the issue.

On Monday morning, though, the court denied the request. Just by itself, the move would have been the strongest statement yet about where the court is headed on the ultimate question.

But Thomas brought the issue out into the open. He issued a statement, in which he was joined by Justice Antonin Scalia, explaining why they would have granted a stay to Alabama — the first word from a justice suggesting the expected end result in the matter.

In the short, three-page statement, Thomas criticized the court for “look[ing] the other way as yet another Federal District Judge casts aside state laws without making any effort to preserve the status quo pending the Court’s resolution of a constitutional question it left open in United States v. Windsor,” the 2013 decision striking down the Defense of Marriage Act’s ban on federal recognition of same-sex couples’ marriages.

“This acquiescence may well be seen as a signal of the Court’s intended resolution of that question,” he wrote, referring to the question of whether bans on marriage for same-sex couples are constitutional. “This is not the proper way to discharge our Article III responsibilities. And, it is indecorous for this Court to pretend that it is.”

The Supreme Court is expected to hear oral arguments in the Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee cases in late April, with a decision expected by late June.

Given Thomas’ dissent today, the only real question left outstanding is where Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito will end up on the ultimate question. Although both dissented in the Windsor DOMA decision, neither has joined Thomas and Scalia in saying publicly that they would have granted any of the recent stay requests.

Many conservatives here (and elsewhere) are headed to the Philippines, Singapore, Costa Rica, Eastern Europe and other spots.

Legal unions of Sin, also known as Sodomite unions is the proper word.

That they would have the arrogance as to declare that a marriage is nothing more than a grave insult to those that are married and the dignity of their union.

But of course it would seem that the lawless evil that has befallen our Federal injustice system knows no bounds in the shamefully indignity it shall seek to aggressive inflict upon the christian and reproducing community.

Well, I’d ask them to make sure the reason isn’t that they are looking for a country they can idolize, once this one errs so grossly it is not even a serious candidate.

We should be asking why was America so weak it could not refuse the travesty?

“Even a fight is truly only a mop up operation based upon what the Lord has ordained.

If we have sin in our tent, the Lord may judge by not blessing our fights.”

The way I see this breaking down is, those of us who raise our families to reject this nonsense and instead have large commuted famleis of their own whom they raise to likewise reject this nonses will in time come to survive the collapse of those who reject family out of hand in the name of embarrassing the death that is their present disposition which leads them to sodomy.

This is a battle of ideals and now the battle is firmly in our own homes, brought to us by evil ones in DC and abroad. But we know the nature of their ideas will in time inevitably distory them. Our only choices are should we allow ourselfs and our kin to be distorted with them? Or should we speak and live by the now political forbidden truth so that our posterity might survive?

If you keep it on the level of the battle of “ideals” you will suffer a Darwinian fate (and eventually go extinct as flaw after flaw opens up).

If you commit yourselves afresh to God and mean it in your hearts, then you will become new creations.

The Philippines is really the only true Christian nation in East Asia/Oceania.

“We should be asking why was America so weak it could not refuse the travesty?”

Its quite obvious we have a Government funded and enforced ‘education system’ that had for decades been forcing acceptance of theses sinful and self-distructive ideas down our children throats all the while the adults at the time did nothing, foolishly believing it was benine.

But it wasn’t benine and now we have an horribly miss-educated generation of kids coming around many of them unable to find real work and lacking real skills in place of the ideology spoon fed them by their overpriced teachers and professors. If you want to undo this YOU MUST purge the schools systems of theses evil ideas and teachers at once and replace them with good conservative and work related ones.

We don’t have a lot of time to do this, and failing to do this will only lead to the propagation of this evil until it destroys itself and our country to the point where it cant even sap the necessary strength from us to sustain itself.

China isn’t a truly Christian nation but it has vastly more Christians in it.

Looks like you want an earthly country that is a mirror. Well that is not the situation the Lord has set up.

Blame the schools now!

How about those who learned in them?

I am getting fed up with a bunch of men and women in black robes telling us what is allowed under the constitution. Homosexual marriage is not a constitutional matter and citizens have the right to determine what they want to accept in their state. These judges have to go. They are just a bunch of crooks who could care less about the constitution and rule only to promote their perverted agenda.

And if they went, how soon would the situation creep back to the way it is now?

It is the sufferance of the insufferable attitudes that has opened the door for this evil. People, the finger points right at us.

Not according to “China Demographics” at Wikipedia. Only 2% of Chinese are Christians, whereas 93% of Filipinos are some type of Christian.

We must see that our government has been overthrown. We have to take it back.

The people that are holding our system together (taxpayers) need to shut it down if they keep trampling all over us.

Marriage is not what they care about. The goal is to destroy the sanctity of the traditional union between one man and one woman that has stood the test of time. They understand that they are darkness to our light and they are desperate to remove the comparison.

I agree, but unfortunately, the constitution means what they say it means. It’s typical of the left to circumvent legislatures by means of courts and judges who are not elected and unaccountable. It’s a foregone conclusion.

So the Supreme Court is about to tell us that the marriage laws of every state from the founding of the nation until about ten years ago were unconstitutional. Furthermore, they will be telling us that the Founders themselves unanimously shared views about the nature of men and women and marriage that their own Constitution prohibited. In other words, the Court will be telling us that the Constitution is a dead letter. RIP.
