Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the clear favorite in Virginia among potential presidential candidates, according to a Christopher Newport University poll released on Thursday.
Clinton beats a lineup of potential Republican candidates in hypothetical head-to-head contests, with former Florida Governor Jeb Bush losing by the closest margin, 48 percent to 43 percent.
The poll held mixed results for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. He was the only other Republican contender in the poll to hold Clinton below a majority (49 percent to 42 percent), but his favorable rating among Virginia voters fell from 46 percent a year ago to 30 percent.

Why has Hillary Clinton not been seen in public for over a month now?
Why has she not declared her intentions yet? At this point in the run up to the 2008 election cycle, she was already in the race, officially.
Why is she hiding? So nobody will ask her questions about the issues of the day? What does it say about a pres. candidate, that their poll numbers and approval ratings are higher the longer she stays out of sight? But then, when she actually is a candidate and makes campaign appearances, her approval ratings go down???
Not unexpected in the place that voted in that Clinton bag man for governor. Or so we are told...
Skin color already been voted, time for lady parts. Any male R will lose.
“Why has Hillary Clinton not been seen in public for over a month now?”
When Democrats are not seen and not in the news their popularity rises. When Obama manages to stay our of the news for as much as a week he gets a multi-point jump in popularity. It’s when they open their mouths that people react in horror.
I find it hard to believe that the State of Virginia has become this Socialist...did they poll outside of Arlington?
Lady parts? Hillary? Pshawww... she puts her pants on just like any other guy.
Maybe a modern day version of McKinley’s Front Porch Campaign of 1896. No reason for the PIAPS to be out there. There is no credible opposition to her.
Ah , Hello, Hillary is a No Show
Notice the poll didn’t do a matchup between Hillary and other Democrats including Elizabeth Warren, who was beating Hillary in some polls taken in Iowa and New Hampshire this week. Obviously, these early polls are meaningless but the fact we haven’t seen, heard, or have seen anything in print by her in a good long time tells me that things aren’t going so smoothly for Team Clinton for 2016.
Northern Virginia or NoVa to the locals has a population of over 2.5 MM or almost a third of the state’s population. NoVa is just an extension of the Northeast Corridor perhaps a little saner than places up the I-95 but at beat purple with deep blue in places like Fairfax county.
Yep you wonder if she will do a front porch sort of campaign.
If no credible Democrat opposes her, she will waltz to the nomination.
I can’t recall any time in the past, in which there was an open nomination for president by a major party, in which there would not be multiple candidates out there. Of course, there have always been front runners and fringe candidates. But this campaign could make history, if Hillary has no opposition for the nomination.
Heck, even incumbent presidents sometimes face primary opponents for renomination.
Will the Democrats succeed with a strategy of going all in with Hillary?? We’ll see.
And, can ANY of the idiots who favor her provide ONE non platitude reason why?
Of course they can't. Because American politics has zero to do with past accomplishments and everything to do with a popularity contest.
Period.
How ANYBODY who is unhappy with OBAMA could possibly support this witch is beyond me. HoW anyone AT ALL could possibly s u port anyone with such a record of blatant lying, non-accomplishment and failure as this creature is also beyond me.
“After months of relative quiet, Hillary Clinton is pressing ahead with preparations for a return to the campaign trail, ramping up her public activity in March ahead of an almost certain campaign launch.”

She’s tanned. She’s rested. She’s ready.

Since the early 1960’s NoVa was historically a GOP stronghold. Byrd Organization Dems and non-Byrd Organization Dems divvied up the rest of the state. A statewide GOP candidate could usually count on a great turnout in NoVa.
Now with all of the additional govt workers and illegal aliens flooding into NoVa in the last twenty years, it’s no longer as GOP as it used to be.
They seemed to have missed that she is polling behind that other woman with the High Cheek bones in Iowa.
She already said she wasn’t announcing until April.
She’s no doubt also botoxed, lipo-suctioned and re-coiffed. Her first appearance will probably be with her grand daughter in her lap.
Exactly. The DC suburbs have expanded to the point where voters in North Virginia are pretty much handing statewide elections to Democrat candidates.
The Democrats already have the northeast and the west coast locked-up. If they end-up with Virginia as a blue-leaning state, the Republican candidate’s road to 270 is pretty damn difficult. The easiest way we win is to nominate a strong conservative who can drive turnout up incredibly high - to fundamentally change the map.
