Obama's a 'fairy' – and I'm free to say so

Political correctness is the bludgeon cultural Marxists wield to demagogue the craven into obedience. It is the meme employed that ensures the acceptable form of social engineering. I reject “political correctness” in all of its constructs and have pledged to myself that I will never succumb to what amounts to a veiled unconstitutional attempt to enslave the nation on a plantation of forced group think, group speak and group behavior.

Such was the gist of a conversation I recently had with Susan Highfield. She suffered under the fallacious idea that certain speech was permissible only for her to use. She said: “Mychal, I hate the man [i.e., Obama] … but only a homosexual like myself can be calling him a … fairy. Otherwise it’s a derogatory statement against [homosexual] people. With all due respect, I’m pretty sure you understand.” She continued by saying, “calling him a fairy is basically hate speech.”

Faggot, faggots, or faggoting may refer to:

faggot or fagot, branch or twig, or bundle of these
Fascine, bundle of brushwood used in civil and military engineering
Fasces, ancient symbol of an axe bound in a bundle of rods
Faggot (unit), archaic unit of measurement for bundles of sticks
Death by burning, metonymically referred to by the faggots which fuel the fire
Ashen faggot (or ashton fagot), Christmas wassail tradition in the West Country of England
a discarded cigarette end

I guess niggardly is still verboten too?

I don’t disagree with his general point, but you lose some credibility when you reference the ‘Urban Dictionary’ as your source for proper use of the English language...

Probably any word with a double “g” is on the list.

“and I’m free to say so”

For now.

He still has about 2 years to go in office. Who knows what more outrageous and tyrannical things he will pull in that time.

Sadly, wikipedia was the one that had the correct definition as I remember it. Merriam-Websters and nearly every other “definer” when “searched” have gone with the urban def. When I was a youngster living in London, we called cigarettes “fags”. Of course that was in the early ‘60’s so by now just saying the word “cigarette” will cause someone to freak out. Guess I’m still driving the wrong way on the one way PC Boulevard.

If you are worried about credibility in your ‘ Urban Dictionary ‘ you are LOST. Our Republic hangs in the balance and your concern is the English language?

When ISIS overruns the White House people will just say tsk, tsk, tsk and the Fairy Queen could have stopped them in Syria but he used too many PINK lines, two steps and grimaced facial movements to stop them.
All countries who recognize the threat are fighting ISIS right now. Maybe we could insert a few Kurdish (and even French Frog) leaders to advise the POTUS what to do next?

I recall reading an article on primitive firearms where the smoldering rope used for ignition was called a faggot. This may relate to the term punk also.

Perhaps a re-reading, or maybe even a first reading, of the article would be appropriate.

It’s the author, not I, who raised the question of language use.

He rests part of his argument on the use of proper grammar in defiance of political correctness, specifically his use of the term ‘fairy’.

The author then uses the ‘Urban Dictionary’ as his source reference to back his claim of proper usage.

I agreed with premise, as noted, but chastised the use of a non-reference as legitimate source reference.

I stand by my statement as completely in context with the article and subsequent discussion on this thread.

Hmm. Punks were what we used to light fireworks fuses.

I believe at one time, ‘punk’ referred to a bunch of rotted wood that was kept smoldering slowly to enable a flame to be produced. Before the invention of matches.

That is an interesting juxtaposition and etymology.

Why is it that "Punk" might be known both as a burning stick and a homosexual, and "faggot" can also be a burning stick and homosexual.

I wonder where these terms started diverging in meaning.

I've never heard the word "punk" used to label a homosexual. I've heard it used as a burning stick for lighting fireworks, and as a label for a person, usually a male, who acts tough but is weak inside.

Obama is a punk.

I had always heard that it was.

Obama is a punk.

Following your definition, certainly. Following the homosexual definition, probably.

Yep. Chiggers, too. They are now referred to as "Arachnid-Americans."
