Sen. Kirk: Chicago Could End Up Like Detroit If Mayor Emanuel Not Re-Elected
March 2, 2015
Craig Dellimore
(CBS) Republican U.S. Senator Mark Kirk has given his tacit endorsement of Mayor Rahm Emanuel for re-election, reports WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore.
He refused to call it an endorsement, but Senator Mark Kirk made clear he feels Chicago would risk dire financial straits like Detroit has seen if Mayor Emanuel is not re-elected.

As if he’d listen...
Seriously, is it not obvious why Detroit IS Detroit?
Generations of Democrat control over their municipal gov’t is the reason.
And for a counter example, Wisconsin, Walker, HELLO?
This isn’t controversial in my opinion. Look who the alternative is. It’s not like Rambo is running against a conservative.
I wonder how Detroiters feel about this slam. They need to go over to Chicago and kick some @$$.
You’d think that a man who saw angels at the end of his bed after suffering a stroke would want to do the right thing.

Mark Kirk's political bromance with Dick Durbin March 26, 2014|John Kass
Will someone please explain the political bromance between Mark Kirk and Dick Durbin?
That's Kirk the Republican senator and Durbin the Democratic senator.
The other day, the moderate Kirk was asked if he would campaign for his own party's nominee, conservative Jim Oberweis, who is running against slippery Democratic incumbent Durbin.
And what he said illustrates exactly what is wrong with the dysfunctional Republican Party of Illinois.
Durbin is perhaps the most partisan rhetorical knife fighter among all the Democrats in the Senate. He'd be vulnerable against the right opponent, as he's wedded to Obamacare and all-but-bankrupt Illinois seems ready to demand a political reformation.
Stylistically, Durbin would gut you with his rhetorical spoon and leave you in a lump on the floor, then step lightly over your twitching feet. Afterward, he'd call a news conference, beseeching the nation in a reasonable voice and announcing that the ugly partisan gridlock in Washington must end for the good of the country.
Given all that, this is what Kirk said when asked if he would campaign for Oberweis:
"I'm gonna be protecting my relationship with Dick and not launching into a partisan jihad that hurts our partnership to both pull together for Illinois," Kirk said.
If that's not a bromance, what is?

Chicago collectivists will have a hard time topping Motor City Marxists. King Kwame, the greatest criminal in Michigan history, is in prison. Top that Second City.
#we’re#1
The other opponents of Rahm must be the worst of the worst, far-leftist, welfare queen, criminal supporting wackjobs if Kirk is giving his support.
Given the fact that a Republican is NEVER going to be elected Mayor of Chicago in any of our lifetimes, he is actually correct.
Rahm is an evil scumbag, but he’ll take the Nation’s Stockyard down the tubes far less quickly than any of the other far-left DeBlasio wannabes who are after his job.
Great post(s). Thanks. Exposing the Uniparty Crime Syndicate.
Chicago will end up like Detroit if Democrats keep getting elected.
Considering what the #2 choice is, Checago might be better off with the #1.
Either way, you are going to reek.
At this point, I could not care less about Chicago and Illinois.
In my opinion, both are like California. Lost for good. With others heading down that road with a full head of steam and the brakes failing.
Rahm’s running against a guy who’s basically a communist, so though I’m no fan of Kirk I’m okay with this sentiment.
Is that right?
How did Oberweis capture the Republican nomination so early in the election cycle?
What is wrong with that! turn Chicago into another Detroit and then you have another “SUCESS STORY” of lib governance. I hope DeBlasio does the same thing to the big apple that way it won’t be such a pimple on this countrys butt it will just be a big sewer instead.
Illinois state Sen. Jim Oberweis (R) was defeated by incumbent Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) in the race to represent Illinois in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday.

So why did Rino Kirk decide to endorse ANY Democrat in the Chicago Mayoral election?
Kirk took it upon himself to announce publicly that he supports Obama’s right-hand man.
Kirk could have easily just refrained from endorsing ANYONE and gone on his way to spend his time as a patron of Chicago bath houses.
