The Republican Who Can Win
PJMedia ^ | 3/1/2015 | Andrew Klavan

Posted on 03/03/2015 9:45:18 AM PST by RightGeek

I sincerely wish that GOP candidates who cannot win the presidency would simply not run and save us all the trouble. Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Lindsey Graham, Rick Perry — none of these people is going to be the next president of the United States and each of them could do his country and his party a service by staying out of the race. Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee both stand a slim shadow of a ghost of a chance but I wish they’d drop out, too. Presidential Candidate is not supposed to be a prestigious line on your CV. It’s something you become when you think you have a real opportunity to do some good to your native land.

As for those who have a path to victory — Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz — I will now tell you which one is the truly viable candidate, the only Republican who could actually win the general.

The Republican who can win the general is whichever one realizes that he is running against the news media.

The Democrats have nothing. Their presumptive candidate is a corrupt old crone who has lied to and double-dealt this country far too long. Their current president has done us the favor of showing us the utter worthlessness of the leftist agenda. He has made the collective life of the country worse at every level except the executive level. When it comes to the Democrats and their philosophy, the white is coming off the sepulcher.

But while the left has no practical or moral legitimacy and no candidate who can plausibly represent even their empty promises, they do have one weapon left: the news media. NBC News, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post — each one of these corrupt mouthpieces and all their little acolytes and satellites not only speak for the Democrats but seek to destroy anyone who stands against them. We’ve seen the signs in these last weeks as Scott Walker’s star has risen and the Democrat toadies have rushed out to hound him with meaningless questions in hopes of a “gotcha” moment.

Do you believe in evolution? Is Barack Obama a Christian? Does Barack Obama love America? And soon to come: Do you believe in abortion in cases of rape and incest? Even worse, if a Republican candidate fumbles any of these answers, Candy Crowley won’t even rush in to help him out!

It’s a rule of thumb thing.

Ok, good point. Romney was a better option than McCain, in 2008. Had he picked Palin he would have had a better chance at winning than McCain.

No.

Dware is at fault. For many many reasons.

“I am SO SICK Of this ‘vote for GOP OR ELSE HilLIARy wins’ mantra.”

That does not address dware’s comment.

He stated he will note vote for the Republican candidate no matter what.

“Palin runs I am voting for her.”

Me too.

Dware is not.

“Don’t forget that Romney is also the architect of same-sex “marriage” and the “assault weapons” ban.”

Yes, and Commiecare. I’m only surprised he didn’t lose by a wider margin.

Agreed. Palin was the only thing that offered the McCain ticket any enthusiasm.

I'm surprised that Zero didn't offer him Biden's spot on the ticket back in 2008.

Where does this delusion among the chattering class that Marco Rubio is a "top tier" candidate come from? I even hear it from normally sane people like Krauthammer. Just more "confimative action", the conservative version of affirmative action where lightweight politicians are taken seriously out of the desire to prove Republicans aren't racist? Or something else?

Walker or Cruz could be the one, depends on which one can withstand a withering anal exam from the commie, socialist, Marxist media. The media will go all out to destroy these guys just like they tried with Reagan, and ultimately failed.

I only have two thumbs so they don't divide evenly by 8.

RE:”Don't forget that Romney is also the architect of same-sex “marriage” and the “assault weapons” ban.”

He ended all violence in MA by getting those passed.

‘Make love not war.’

Don't forget that Kerry is from MA too and he is a war hero

the news media. NBC News, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post
You're only fooling yourself by leaving out FOX News.

If you aren't watching One America News (OANN) you aren't informed.

“Don’t forget that Kerry is from MA too and he is a war hero”

Kerry first ran for public office in Massachusetts as a conservative war vet......he got trounced. The next time he ran as a left wing anti Vietnam slug. He won. The rest is history.

So you, dware, support Hillary Clinton.

That’s BS, he said he wasn’t voting for the GOP and was voting third party.
That is not a vote for Hillary.

Didn’t work for Romney and McCain, won’t work for Jebster
