Opposition leader Isaac Herzog condemned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus speech to Congress on Tuesday in an address he chose to deliver in Nir Moshe, a community near the Gaza Strip.
Herzog said he could have gone to Washington but decided to remain in Israel to deal with the problems inside the country.
There is no doubt the prime minister knows how to speak well, but the truth is that the speech, as impressive as it was, did not prevent a nuclear Iran and wont impact a deal that is being drafted not on its content, nor on its timetable, Herzog said. The painful truth is that after all the applause, Netanyahu is alone and Israel is isolated, and the negotiations will continue without Israels input. The speech sabotaged Israels relations with the US. It will not change the view of the administration, only deepen the rift with our strategic ally.
Politicians on the Right said Herzogs attack on Netanyahu after the prime ministers speech in Washington was inappropriate and would not serve him politically.
The people of Israel stand behind Netanyahu, especially after such a moving speech, Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett said from Washington. I was disappointed by the behavior of opposition leaders like Buji [Herzog], Tzipi [Livni], and Yair [Lapid], who should have been there by Netanyahus side, and if not, should get out of the way and stop bothering.
Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense committee chairman Yariv Levin (Likud) said that by repeatedly applauding the prime minister, the congressmen taught Livni and Herzog a lesson in how to display responsibility and show respect for a leader fighting for his countrys future.
Retiring Culture and Sport Minister Limor Livnat (Likud) mocked Herzog by asking Can anyone imagine Buji sweeping Congress away like that?

Frankly, I think these are desperate tactics and Bibi will win reelection easily. God help Israel if I'm wrong.
God help the world if we’re wrong.
anyone in Israel who had previously been on the fence...had likely made a decision by noon our time...
Herzog is behaving like a real Judas or Ah@le.
I think the speech was good, but also introduced some high comedy into DC.
Bibi, a wounded combat vet, lost a brother, first class statesman, MIT and Harvard grad, gives a polite and well reasoned speech.
Obama says “I didn’t watch it! I didn’t watch it, nobody can prove I watched it!”
Pelosi is crying in the corner,,,
Dem Senator Heinrich from New Mexico flees the room.
He just walks in the room and the lunatics self destruct!

Herzog: Netanyahu’s Congress speech will boomerang on Israel
See how a coward thinks.
“..Opposition leader Isaac Herzog condemned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus speech to Congress...”
No surprise. Easily predicted. Bibi made his argument so EFFECTIVELY that the opposition can only do backflips and bark at the moon.
If I remember correctly, Herzog’s Labor Party hasn’t been doing very well.
Baracking Moonbats they be.
Did Isaac Herzog say that or did Obama’s advisers sent to control Isaac Herzog tell him to say that ?
Pure Bullshit!
Herzog is Obama’s butt-boy in Israel.
I’ll take Obama thugs for 400, Alex.
If they elect Herzog they deserved to get nuked
You can cure stupid
The lesson to be learned here is that the US has no monopoly on self-serving parasitical politicians who will crap on the security, indeed the very existence of their country if they think it will serve their re-election. Abysmal.
This was a speech, for pity’s sake. To expect that 30 minutes after Bibi’s speech the US will turn on a dime and renounce their miserably misguided approach/policy is simply mentally deficient. But that should not surprise.
