The Minnesota Republican Party answered a complex Capitol budget question with a simple solution: Give it all back. With a print, television and online ad campaign, the party is proposing that lawmakers and the governor return all of the projected $1.9 billion surplus to taxpayers. 'The Republican Party of Minnesota says send it back -- send it all back," Party Chairman Keith Downey says in the ad. Downey, who is running for re-election to the party post this spring, said Tuesday he did not have a prescription for how he thought the nearly $1.9 billion should be returned. He declined to say whether he would be disappointed if House Republicans' did not follow his 'send it all back' lead. So far, House Speaker Kurt Daudt has not proposed rebates or tax cuts that amount to $1.9 billion. House Republicans have yet to release their full plans for the 2016-2017 budget.

If they give it back, Governor Goofball will jump the gas tax faster than you can say “anti-psychosis medication”.
How did the dims screw up and allow a surplus?
The notion that everyone can individually spend their money better than government, I think that is trite,wrong-headed and anti-democratic.

that sums up the DFL opinion on income YOU earned.
I'm not making this up, that's pretty much what the Slickmeister said. None of the lib media groupies called him on it. Because, of course, they all agreed with Clinton. To a liberal, your money is not your money.
Give the money to Detroit :)
A surplus like that means someone mixed up numbers somewhere. I wouldn’t exactly say to return it. (How do you determine who gets how much? Libs will wonder why that millionaire gets more back than their poor union plumber? People who pay no taxes - why don’t they get any of this surplus? You hate the poor!) So what they should do is throw it into their rainy day fund, and lower their tax rates by that much for the following year. Budget doesn’t need to be raised to fit, taxes should be lowered to fit.
