Is Being Gay a Choice?
Townhall.com ^ | March 11, 2015 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 03/11/2015 8:23:51 AM PDT by Kaslin

Last week, Dr. Ben Carson stepped onto a political mine -- really, jumped onto it with both feet -- when he answered a question from CNN's Chris Cuomo about the nature of homosexuality. "You think being gay is a choice?" Cuomo asked Carson, after Carson rightly stated that being black and being gay are two very different phenomena. "Absolutely," replied Carson. He then went on to explain, "A lot of people who go into prison straight go into prison straight -- and when they come out, they're gay."

Carson's unstated line of reasoning is perfectly logical. When Cuomo asked Carson whether he thinks "being gay is a choice," Carson interpreted that question to mean: "Is homosexual behavior a choice." To that, the answer is obviously yes, since all non-reflexive behavior is essentially a choice. Cuomo, however, took his question to mean: "Is homosexual inclination a choice." To that, the answer is obviously no -- it is either a byproduct of biology or environment. Feelings, in other words, are not choices; it is possible that some feelings can be shaped by behavior, but as a general rule, feelings are not chosen. Behaviors, however, are chosen. Thus, being black -- a non-behavioral characteristic -- is not like being gay or being straight, in the sense that one cannot choose not to be black, while one chooses one's own sexual behavior.

The divide between Carson's understanding of "being gay" and Cuomo's understanding of the same term demonstrates the rhetorical slight-of-hand that has marked the gay rights movement. By conflating behavior with feeling, and calling it all "orientation," homosexual advocates have conflated biology with choice, and called it all biology.

And even they know that such conflation is a lie.

Take, for example, supposed gay spokesperson Dan Savage. He understands that homosexual behavior is a choice. He compared being gay to being religious: "Faith -- religious belief -- is not an immutable characteristic." He also compared being gay to "military service and marital status." This is logically correct. But Savage refused to acknowledge the implications of this line of thought, because doing so would force him to recognize that society often discriminates between those behaviors it finds productive and those it finds unproductive in terms of the law (military service, for example, is a protected class because we all benefit from the military service of others; being a member of Code Pink is not protected, because we do not all benefit from someone's membership in Code Pink). Instead, Savage fell back on his trademark vulgarity, telling Dr. Carson to "suck my d---." "If being gay is a choice, prove it," wrote Savage. "Choose it. Choose to be gay yourself."

That is an insipid argument; were the shoe on the other foot, Savage would have to demonstrate that being gay is involuntary by engaging in sexual behavior with every male he meets. Given his prior solicitation of Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee, and Herman Cain, that may well be his desire, but it's a rotten argument overall.

But arguments no longer matter. Logic no longer matters. Feelings matter. We intuitively understand that behavior defines us rather than feeling; no one would label a vegetarian a person who deplores meat-eating but chows down on steak every night. But when it comes to sexual behavior, we look to get ourselves off the hook: All sexual behavior is involuntary, so how can we be expected to make decisions about it? Hence the left's absurd lie during the Clinton era that everyone lies about sex; hence the asinine notion that chastity until marriage is an impossibility; hence the morally blind belief that societal pressure for sexual morality is discriminatory in the same sense that racism is discriminatory.

The result: No honest discussion can be had about the extent of human choice, the limits of human choice, and our own preferences among the choices human beings make. We are mere animals, forced by our firing neurons to act on each and every impulse. We have no choice. And those who say we do ought to perform oral sex on us.

Go read the bible more closely and watch Trey Smith’s video of the Nephellium on YouTube.

The bible tells us in Genesis that there where Nephellium on the Earth in those days, before the flood, and after the flood.
Those fallen angels made entry into this earth before the flood, and a short time after the flood.

Read the book of Numbers 13:33 narrative, if All the Nephellium were wiped out in the flood ? Why then does the bible say that there were Nephellium in the land of Cannon right before God told Israel to take the promised land ?
What about David and Goliath ? Goliath was Nephellium.

If all the Nephellium were wiped out during the flood we were have to delete a few books of the bible because the Nephellium would not have exsist, but yet the bible clearly tells us that the Nephellium exsisted after the great flood.

Also ? The existence of the Nephellium disproves the lie and theory of evolution.
George Washington, Abraham Lincoln both are found in their writings of talking about remains, bones, skeletons of Giants found in the USA.
It’s strange that news stories of these remains of these Giants bones and skeletons all dried up and disappeared in the early 1950s and then we had a whole flood of movies from Hollywood about U.F.O.s, aliens, invaders from other worlds.
It’s as if some very powerful people wanted to keep all of this hidden.

SO ASXTHE DAYS OF NOAH, SO SHALL THE DAYS OF THE SON OF MAN BE, THE 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.

Of course it is.
Everything you “do” is a choice.
You don’t “do” the color of your skin, your height, or where you are born.
You “do” choose who you have sex with, if you will do drugs, if you will drink alcohol or not etc.

I agree that it should not be forced upon us or paraded around.
It’s a “ in your face, affront, arrogance , a poke in the eye at God “.
The Nephellium forced those human women to mate with them.
Some of them are soulless, they are possesed.

Feelings, in other words, are not choices; it is possible that some feelings can be shaped by behavior, but as a general rule, feelings are not chosen.

But a person must choose to act on a feeling for it to become a reality.
I feel like i am a millionaire, that i want to be one. If I do not choose to take action to achieve that factually my feelings mean nothing.

The sex positive agenda’s goal is to end all moral judgments regarding sexual pairings of any kind (regardless of sex, age, relation, marital status, number, or species of partners(s)).

“End slut shaming” is a new mantra. Sleep with a hundred guys and there is no shame in proclaiming it.

The announced poll support for same sex marriage seems to outstrip support for heterosexual marriage (people actually getting married).

The word is only found in two places. One refers to before the Flood, the other to the time of Joshua. The Bible does not say Goliath was Nephilim.

The pre-Flood Nephilim are referred to as the “sons of God,” those of Joshua’s day as the “sons of Anak.”

It seems entirely reasonable to me that the writer of Numbers was referring to the size and ferocity of the men they saw while spying, not to their ancestry.

More critically, God very clearly says in Genesis that he is destroying all life on the earth due to the wickedness of men, specifically the Nephilim their leaders.

To believe that some survived the Flood would mean that God was incapable of making that happen. It would also mean many of the people around in the time of Joshua and possibly today are not descended only from Noah, which the Bible says.

Personally I don’t care to go there.

Should have noted that Goliath was of the sons of Anak, the Anakim.

This was a group of very large men who lived in the south of Palestine. Joshua ran them out, except for a few that moved in with the Phillistines, from whom Goliath was presumably descended.

Seems probable to me that the cowardly spies were trying to make excuses for themselves by saying the Anakim were like the Nephilim. Note that this passage is quoting the spies who chickened out. Not exactly a reliable source!

"In the years to come, when all these children adopted by homosexuals start to come out about what they witnessed (or worse, forced to participate in), the shit will hit the fan"

If you expect future news stories containing empirical evidence, I predict a disappointed tuffydoodle.

This may rattle some theology, but the Nephellium taught man kind the art of war and how to make weapons of war.
Monkey see, monkey do, no wonder why they had to come up with the theory of evolution, to discount, discredit God’s word, and hide the fact that man kind learned like monkeys the art of war from the Nephellium.
In no way am I saying or believe in evolution, just pointing out the conspiracy of the lie and theory of evolution.
The theory of evolution is not compatible and counters the fact the bible tells us about the Nephellium.
I used the term “ monkey see, monkey do “ as a figure of speech in how humans learn things that they see others do.
The Nephellium taught man the art of war and how to make weapons of war, for the Nephellium was warriors of old.
Not all have the gay gene, some are taught, or enslaved into that life style.
But there are some who have the gay gene of the Nephellium.
It’s like a virus.

The whole thing is just on my nerves. Now the latest push is for “transgender” restrooms. They just won’t ever stop. They will wear us down to the point we just give up. That is what they want.

The American Indians encountered strange giants who were called the red haired giants.
There is physical proof that they existed here in the Americas and all around the world, many remains of giant bines, skeletons have been discovered and still is being discovered around the world.
Some suspect that the American Indian practice of lifting a hand and say “ How “ was to make sure that the stranger was not a 6 fingered Nephellium.
Not all Nephellium were giants, but all giants of old were Nephellium.

Those Nephellium before the flood did not survive.
The bible tells us that there was Nephellium in those days, before the flood, and after, after the flood.
The fallen ones , the fallen angels, re-entered the earth after the flood.
Watch Trey Smith’s video of the Nephellium on you tube, and LA Marzilli’s material, also Chuck Missler.
God wipped out the world with a flood because all, or most flesh became corrupt, why then ? There are no more dinosours ? Certain species before the flood do not exsist after the flood ?
All flesh became corrupted by the DNA of the Nephellium except 8 pure humans, Noah and his family, and the animals that God commanded to put in the Ark.

Jesus Christ said “ As so was the days of Noah, so shall the day or days of the son of man be “ the 2nd return of Jesus Christ.

It’s their need for attention. Rock and Tab were actors and actors definitely crave attention. All those gays who prance around in feathers and outrageous garb in their special gay parades crave the attention. The men who choose to speak like little 12 year old girls with lisps? There’s that attention, again. Women who choose to bulk up, shave their heads and walk spraddle legged as if they have a set of baseballs in their pants? Attention. Attention. Attention.
