I did not bother reading the article after the opening paragraph.

Really. Then why is Northeast Corridor Clerisy and Wall Street financiers very comfortable with a Bush fake v. Clinton general election? They do not see a dime's worth of difference between the two. Why should I participate in a election between two ruling dynasties? Just like in the old Holy Roman Empire the US equivalent of the Imperial Electors have made the choice for us. Because one is for a 25% capital gains tax rate vs. 35% for the other? A Bush presidency would guarantee the passage of an immigration "reform" law that would make the Gang of 8 seem like child's play. I am not going to vote for a candidate who is willing to open the borders so the company I work for can replace me with cheap foreign labor. I am not going to vote for a candidate whose policies would destroy the American Dream for 80% of the citizens so the likes of Zuckerberg, Buffett, and Blankenship can buy bigger yachts and private jets.

He’s a conservative

Frankly, I stopped right there. Raw, unfiltered drivel.

Bush would allow Obamacare to stand, allow Amnesty to expand, continue the precedent of family dynasties, and allow FedGov to grow rapidly. What’s the point in voting for someone like that?

You know what, Johan? Screw the Presidential elections. The change has been coming at the local and state levels.

Yeah, yeah. Hitlery may take the country further into the abyss but the real change is happening closer to home and it's just a matter of time before people like you figure it out.

I guess a case can be made that's it's a good thing that the focus on the Presidential elections allows the changes taking place at the local and state level to fly under the radar.

It’s not a matter of holding my nose. I simply won’t vote for him. I voted for Consitution Party canidate in 2012...pretty much given up on GOP national. Still vote GOP in local and state offices. But a supporter of FED ED(common core) Amnesty and a plethora of other Jeb planks is Dem Lite. Thank you very much

Besides being a RINO I never found Jeb Bush to be much of a persuasive politician. Just another bob dole waiting for his turn.

I quit reading NR quite some time ago. They showed their true colors when they started pushing Romney and trashing the conservatives last time. NR is nothing more than the GOPe mouthpiece. It is not a conservative organization....further evidenced by the fact that they believe Jeb is a conservative.

Quick reminder that George Bush ran as a hard, small government conservative, who guaranteed tax reform, social security reform, and - most importantly - a non-interventionalist policy that would have pulled America out of being the world’s policeman. Oh, and a “return to the rule of law.” That from the guy who tried hard to give us Amnesty, Ted Kennedy’s No Child Left Behind, TARP, and a whole new Department (Dept. Homeland).

Generally speaking, I liked G. Bush, but nothing a Bush says should be taken seriously and there is no way another one should be in office again.

If you had kept reading you would have seen that Goldberg wasn’t arguing for a Bush nomination. Instead, he argued why Bush should not be the nominee. In that he makes solid arguments.

Sorry, Jonah... I agree with much of the writing of your past articles, but you’re way off on this one. Support for Common Core, open borders and chumminess with the Clinton corrupticrats are not qualities that add up to “conservative.” Jeb is at best a centrist moderate. We’ve been down that road before.

If the choice comes down to Bush versus Clinton, the conservative cause would be advanced by another Bush presidency far more than it would be advanced by another Clinton presidency.

The conservative cause will only be advanced when the GOPe finally waves the white flag and admits that they can't win elections (nor should they) unless they adopt the conservative cause.

Unbelievable that every single conservative did not learn that lesson after watching the Republican performance since the 2014 mid-term landslide win.

I think conservatives will stay home in huge numbers in 2016 unless a bona fide conservative wins the nomination.

I know I will.
