That is because if one parent goes down the other survives.
But when it costs that much; they should travel together and let the grandparents somewhere inherit the responsibility of the kids if they crash and die IMO.

Only little people have to take the same flight. Personally, I see absolutely no reason why the president can’t take a regularly scheduled commercial flight. After all, the TSA searches everyone who enters.

How many taxpayers could’ve afforded to visit a dying relative or attend a funeral of a loved one or spend a few short days with their soldier if they didn’t have to pay the taxes that paid for michelle and barracks trips?

Can anyone think of a good reason against congress passing a law significantly limiting the travel of first ladies?
She should get a certain salary and EVERYTHING that she does should be covered by that, staff, travel.
She can travel with the President.
A million for a television show. What a joke.
She goes to China, refused to take any press questions. Brings her mother and nieces and spend $10,000 a night on a signal hotel room.
