Voice of GOP Establishment Gives Thumbs Down on Ted Cruz Because of Government Shutdown
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | March 15, 2015 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: I want you to hear Brit Hume. This was last night on The Kelly File. This is Brit Hume explaining why mainstream Republicans like him will not be with Ted Cruz. They just can't see supporting Ted Cruz.

HUME: Ted Cruz has not won any friends among mainstream Republicans by his choice of tactics. There's a significant number of Republicans out there who believe -- and I'm not making this up -- that the government shutdown did not hurt the Republican Party, but actually helped it win the majority. Now, obviously I don't think that's so, but those are the people that will be Ted Cruz's people 'til the end. I don't think there are that many of them. I don't think, in the end, there are enough of 'em and enough people that have forgotten about that episode.

RUSH: So Brit Hume, who is the voice of the Republican establishment inside-the-Beltway, is saying, never, no way, no how for Ted Cruz because he shut down the government, and I don't care what anybody says, that hurts the Republican Party, it did hurt the Republican Party, it didn't help, there's a lot of idiots out there he thinks that say it did help, but it didn't. So can't see my way to supporting Ted Cruz, 'cause this guy shuts down the government. He does things that damage the Republican Party, in no way no how we can support him.

Government shutdown stuff, huh? I'll tell you, that packs so much fear. I don't have time to get into much analysis. I just wanted you to hear that, because it explains why there is so much animosity, partially explains. There's other reasons, too. But it partially explains why there's so much animosity for Cruz within the Republican establishment. You just don't mess with government. Too many people depend on Washington. Too many people depend on Washington working, and Washington can't work if it's shut down, and that doesn't help.

I caught the Hume interview. He kept using the word “moderate.” Repeatedly. Brainwashing 101? I wish I had counted how many times he used the word. It was blatantly obvious.

Did Ted Cruz actually shut down the government? I don’t remember that to be the case.

Shut down? Oh, because the Koch Bros told him to do it. Even though the demonkkkrats were running the show. (And still are apparently!)

I loathe Brit Hume ever since he went after Newt in 2012. I can’t stand to look at the POS.

Wait till President Cruz starts using his veto pen on RINO tax and spend bills. That is the government shutdown Hume and Krauthammer fear.

Counting votes doesn’t apply to Cruz because so many voters abstain out of sheer disgust.

There are millions of such people, and they’ve been waiting for someone like Cruz so they can vote in good conscience again. That’s why he just needs to stick to his guns.

If he does, the votes will come - by the millions.

For the life of me I don’t understand this...

He just announced he’s a candidate.

There are no other announced candidates. Why are we even talking about anything Cruz says or does until there is another candidate. Are they that devoid of anything to talk about? He’s operating in a vacuum., not sucking up the oxygen in the room. There’s nothing in the room to suck up, the start of the primaries are 10 months away.

Not taking a shot a Cruz here, I just don’t understand the need to discuss his every move. Let him do his thing, and work the crowds and get his numbers into a position where he’s a contender. Then we have something to talk about. Right now...he’s one.. of one.

Brit Hume, you need to start worrying about saving face and backpedaling when Cruz wins.

Brit Hume is on board The Cheap Labor Express. He is using the shutdown, for now, to try to discredit Cruz, but it’s really about the amnesty. It’s all about the amnesty.
The RNC has to deliver the amnesty candidate that they’ve been paid to deliver. They do not want us to be able to vote for anyone who might stop the cheap labor importation.

I just said something very similar on another thread. I think you’re right. Ted Cruz could draw from the millions who have given up voting because the parties are corrupt and obviously colluding against the citizens.

They had the “Shut-Down” excuse going for months now...the Demon-rats have been using it a lot. So naturally the GOP is going to pick it up.

The election is about getting rid of both Demon-rats and their GOP partners.
