EXCLUSIVE: Welcome to Roseland, on Chicago's south side, where Obama first promised hope and change - and where just days ago a gun battle left a 77-year-old great grandfather dead and his two-year-old neighbor in critical condition
Welcome to Roseland, on Chicago's south side, the poverty plagued neighborhood where Barack Obama became politicized and starting forming his ideas of hope and change as a community organizer.
And this is where just days ago a gun battle between two rival street gangs erupted that left a 77-year-old great grandfather dead, his kindergartner great-grandchild nursing a bullet would to his left arm and a two-year-old in critical condition and his mother seriously injured.
When Obama left the area after four years as a community activist to study at Harvard, he vowed to gain the political power to bring change to Roseland and urban neighborhoods across the country.
'I would learn power's currency,' President Obama wrote in Dreams of My Father, his early memoir, and bring that knowledge 'back to where it was need, back to Roseland....bring it back like Promethean fire.'

Is that where that mansion of his is that he got on a Great Deal from his developer friend?
“But nearly three decades after he left, six years into his presidency, Irene Branch, though a confirmed supporter of the President, knows little about the currency of power. Indeed she feels helpless right now.
‘They wrecked my whole world,’ she said of the teenage gunmen who exchanged fire outside her home, killing her husband of some sixty years.
The suspects have still not been identified.
Odell Branch, deacon at his local Baptist church, the patriarch of a sprawling family, six children, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, was murdered two weeks ago.
In the last ten years, close to 200 have been murdered in this one neighborhood of 40,000 people, Roseland is one of the 10 most dangerous neighborhoods in a city rife with illegal guns.
Many more have suffered gun shot wounds. Branch is the latest to die.
He was watching television with his five-year-old great grandson, in the living room of the tidy three-bedroom single family home the couple bought and moved in to a half a century ago.”
Are bad neighborhoods like Roseland better off than they were six years ago?
Have the social and economic conditions in these places changed based on Obama being president?
Have the policies of Obama done anything for these places?
Has Obama done anything positive for race relations?
Do the feral gang types of Roseland still create fear and intimidation as they have traditionally done in bad neighborhoods???
Has it helped the self esteem of Roseland people that a black president sits in the White House? Has this influenced anyone there to better themselves and their lives????
Wow, that Bill Ayers is a hell of a ghost writer.
Can’t you just hear Bam spouting “like Promethean Fire”?
Neither can I.
The widow said:
“...She added with a first flash of anger: ‘Put them in the army, show them how to keep their pants up and teach them how to act. Send them to Iraq. They be men when they come back from that.’....
Obama has improved America like Hitler improved Germany.
And both were elected by people who believed that’s what they would do.
Obama lived in Hyde Park... home of every communist in Chicago for the last 60 years...
Proof is in the pudding. My eyes don’t lie. EVERYTHING BO touches is an unmitigated disaster!
It has always been an ideal and fertile prospecting area for “Community Organizers”, especially those with a distinct Marxist ideology.
So in summary, Barry’s been bullsh@tting his entire life!
A liar of the first order.
So in summary, Barrys been bullsh@tting his entire life!................................. If you are good at it, a good line of BS always works. The problem is that most folks are too naive to realize it. Wait till Hillary hits the road, you’ll need a pasture cleaner to follow her, then again, most of her followers will probably eat it up.
Pasture cleaner, no doubt!
