Potential McCain Challenger Kelli Ward Tells Mark Levin: ‘This Is A David And Goliath Story'

“Believe me, I know this is a David and Goliath story,” Arizona State Senator Kelli Ward (R-Lake Havasu City) told national radio host Mark Levin. Her interview centered around the possibility that Ward may challenge Republican establishment incumbent Senator John McCain in a 2016 primary.

Levin describes Ward as a “constitutional conservative,” recalled her work at the Assembly of State Legislatures meeting, and remarked that he considers her less-than-lengthy political career an asset.

“I am a family physician and very, very proud of that,” Ward began. “I’m definitely not a career politician. I’m somebody who I never thought I would be into politics. I can tell you I was involved in medical politics, but that was regarding my profession and my livelihood.”

She then explained that ObamaCare encouraged her to enter politics.

“It [Obamacare] was such an offense to me that the federal government was gonna try to take over my patients and their freedom, their liberty, their ability to get the kind of care that they want and need,” she said. She described the “blood sweat and tears” she spent working to become a doctor. That propelled Ward to run for office as the Senator for the 5th district of Arizona.

It's good that she's getting on Levin early. Getting her name out there so support can build.

Have Salmon or Schweikert decided to run?

Reid is retiring so open seat. But if the Governor, etc jumps in, hard row to hoe.

Shweikert has said he’s leaning against challenging McCain. I haven’t seen anything one way or another on Salmon, except that somebody (I don’t remember who) was pissed that Ward may be getting in his way.

But my take on that is that the game is, push potential challengers out to clear the way for a Salmon challenge, then Salmon doesn’t run and it’s clear sailing for McCain.

I hope Ward actually announces.

Viable challengers might force many of those ‘old codgers’ to do a Harry Reid and retire.

Challengers, however, have to be viable and not some off-the-wall flakes. [Same can be said for the growing list of presidential wannabes.]

We had a David and Goliath battle here in VA-7, Eric Cantor had tons of money and spent freely to defeat a shoe-string opposition candidate, Dave Brat.
Eric Cantor is no longer in Congress because the voters knew he was going to betray us on amnesty.
Let’s hope AZ voters have finally woken up to McCain’s perfidy.

What the hell? McCain is going to run again!?

What is wrong with these people? Why are they so afraid to go out and live in the world they helped create?
