My heart is broken right now realizing that harm has been done to LGBT people in this country.
Much of it is real involving bullying and sexual abuse, among other things.
But much of it is also imaginary leading to imaginary notions about 'enemies'.
Those who have conservative religious beliefs about sexuality have been defined by activists that include major business leaders like Apple CEO Tim Cook as bigots, racists, KKK and Nazis.
With that notion in their heads and with business- political-media support, one shudders to think what is happening at this moment in the attack on the Indiana religious freedom law and where we are headed in the months and years ahead.
Think about how World War II was dealt with and how it ended, hence the title of this article. If religious conservatives are KKK and Nazis, then any use of power or force is acceptable to crush them.
When the former Republican governor in Arizona, Jan Brewer, had a similar bill sent to her last year it was denounced by Senator John McCain and Mitt Romney tweeted against it. There was strong business opposition according to some reports. Brewer ended up vetoing Bill 1062.
In recent days in Georgia, a similar bill was gutted in the Republican controlled legislature of that state. No doubt business pressure again.
Then there's Alabama, where a local federal judge issued a pro gay marriage ruling in February. The AL Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, eventually backed by seven other justices issued an order prohibiting probate judges from performing same-sex marriage ceremonies.
Alabama Governor Robert Bentley responed by saying: "I don't want Alabama portrayed in a negative light because when its portrayed in a negative light, it doesn't help me to recruit jobs in Alabama....So I'm hurting families when I can't help people get a job in this state."
It looks another example of a political leader intimidated by the big business community.
The leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party, Nigel Farage, spoke at CPAC earlier this year of the unification of big business, big banks and big government in a "Corporatist" system of government in the UK.
It looks like we have more evidence in this gay marriage-religious freedom debate in this country that big business forces are pulling the strings of politicians in both major parties including the Republicans.
The elite business forces are also behind Amnesty tying Republicans to the notion that sooner or later there will be work permits or a pathway to citizenship for those in this country illegally.
Big Business interests have also been served by Common Core and Obamacare, with most Republicans resisting or opposing efforts to meaningfully reverse or repeal either.
If Governor Mike Pence and the Republicans of Indiana cave on this issue, it will be more confirmation of the harsh reality that we have a Uniparty in this country instead of two different political parties.
A Uniparty that bows down to big business, big banks and big media ignoring the people who elected them.
Marginalizing conservative religious people by not offering them protection from the prosecution and persecution of the LGBT movement and its allies puts them in the position of Jews in Germany in the early part of Nazi rule or in a Jim Crow like position in the Old South.
Conservative religious people are entitled to their First Amendment rights of free speech and freedom of religion.
And finally my arms embrace LGBT people everywhere. Any pain or hurt you have suffered will not be healed by revenge on those who may or may not have hurt you.
My experience as a political activist was that I became angry and enraged hurting myself and hurting others. Its not the way to go. I must Live and Let Live and I hope you can find your way to that ideal.
These freaks should no longer be tolerated. They should be stuffed back into the closet, and the door should be nailed shut.
Fixed it for you.
For gays, everything is right now, in your face, damn your religion or your resistance. After this barrier is breached. there’ll be more. They’re just getting started.
3% of the countries population.
More like 0.5% of the population. Let's be accurate here.
It is ironic that the lavenders refer to those who oppose their lifestyle choice as Nazis. The Nazis were, to a great extent, outright flamers who reveled in buggery.
John Kennedy stole the election of 1960, and then was murdered by Lyndon Johnson. The U.S. Government became wholly illegitimate on January 22, 1973, the day the USSC handed up Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton.
You can’t kill 58 million babies and have a country.
There’s a lot of anger and intolerance on the table here and I think its wrong. I pray that people would come to their senses before things get worse. LGBT activists should not be trying to hurt religious people economically or otherwise.
Faggies are acting out now what Nazis did then. They are the new wearers of the Pink Swastika.
Its all fun and games until the lead starts to fly.
Go cry in someone else's cereal, homo-Nazi's are the most vicious, anarchist, brutal bullies on the face of the earth. They are animated by Satan himself, and will have no sympathy from me.
Either we get sodomy laws reinstated in this country, or we are as good as dead.
We tried the tolerance/Kumbaya and this is where it got us.
They don’t want tolrrsnce. They want rndorsement, encouragement, and approval. And those pimps and strumpets in Hollyweird are infected with them. On a more realistic plane, they gave us Nancy Pelosi. THAT ALONE IS UNFORGIVABLE !!
I don’t care what these freaks do in the privacy of their bedrooms, but their lifestyle is not normal, it’s not a “marriage” and they have no right to infect young kids with their perversion.
That's largely the attitude that got us where we are now. I DO care when homosexuality is allowed to flourish, anywhere.
We once universally had anti-sodomy laws - everywhere. And we were a much better people for it. There nationwide repeal is what finally started this putrid ball rolling.
I don’t want to hurt anybody but there are people out there who are angry and raging, who want to start a fight and imagine everyone is their enemy.
They are the LGBT activists trying to hurt religious people and sometimes there are people who on the other side of the issue who are also raging with anger and want to hurt.
I oppose the militant intolerant activists who want to go the Nazi route but to others who may want to talk I want to let them know I care about the pain that is leading to their anger and militancy like the pain I felt years ago that led to my raging militancy for conservative and religious causes.
I would love to help LGBT people become normal and end their mental illnesses. Anyone know how??
Sadly, you may be right..
Only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
That is the only way.
If they reject that, there is no hope for them.
