It’s not my intent or job to sell you anything.

The facts are out there. Desalinization is both doable and affordable. If a small nation can do it, a large nation can. Even states can. Israel only has about seven million people. We have close to 40 million in California now.

Water needs and desalinization are not specific to the Middle-East or Israel. California and I suspect other states prove that point right now.

If you need more water, you have a lot in common with Israel.

As for water rates being elevated prematurely, California is in dire need of more water. What choice does it have other than stick it’s head in the sand like leading Democrats in the state have for decades.

The market of price is taking care of it, that is what my post pointed out, when the Santa Barbara plant is descriptive, they built it when the felt it was needed, and mothballed it for 20 years when appropriate, and now bringing it back on line.

Why you keep acting like Israel is comparable to us in it’s situation and motivations and politics, etc in regards to why it built another plant, is baffling.

We get it, other countries, including Middle Eastern nations use desalination, so do we, and we are building more plants.
“Despite these hurdles, however, the United States ranks fourth among markets for desalinated water behind Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Spain”

Not to get political but are their desalination plants truly self sustaining. I ask this because we send them a lot of foreign aid, some of which maybe subsidizing their operation.

Again, a technical question, not a political one.
