I agree. I’ve not seen Gowdy have any bite. He barks really well. He says the things we like to hear. But what has he accomplished?

The Executive Branch controls / influences a great many of the Beer-o-craptic organisations in DC.
The Executive Branch controls / influences the NSA, which gathers intel on congress critters.
The Executive Branch controls / influences the Dept of Justice which can hold the thigs the NSA gathers on congress critters over their heads.
The Executive Branch controls / influences many other organisations like the IRS, the EPA, the FBI, etc that can all be used to put pressure on elected officials.
The fact that they can’t Shut UP Ted Cruz and Mike Lee tells a whole LOT about how the rest of the congress critters have been compromised.
Why behind closed doors? Probably because they want to give her the opportunity to offer them high level positions in her government once she takes office.

Congress critters in general have worried too much about feathering their own nests to worry about such trifle....
which is why we are pretty much screwed unless the states step in and take their power back.

I have been watching the songs and dances going on in Washington for years. At times there seemed something was happening for the Nation and then it all came to a hollow sound. I now believe that all of Issa’s hearings and bluster was just that because he was told how far he could take his committee before some stories ‘true or not’ would pop up in the press. He clammed up with a weak deceptive explanation that he and his committee had gone as far as intended. I have had the same gut feeling about Goudy and his committee. Damned be it with the people we are Washington.
