Shouldn’t this be up to the parents?
If you look at the trend...transgender, tattoos, body piercings, Goth fashion, etc....then you can project out 2030...the ability of science and medicine to add Borg-like devices to the body and just pretend you are Borg or have some brain stimulation device attached (like in Fringe). Parental consent then? Yes, but they’ll just sign off and say “OK”.
Go over to any school and just note the number of sixteen year old kids with tattoos now. They go to Aruba or Mexico and the parents say sure....spending $700 on some gaudy tattoo for the kid.
To be different...that’s the theme of each single episode now of a teenagers life.
