Google said it would launch an experimental portal that allows interested patent holders to sell their patents to the company.

The Patent Purchase Promotion program will remain open from May 8 to May 22, the company said on Monday.

Hmmmmm.....
All of my patents are owned by my employer.
Man, will this be ripe for fraud.
So what will Google do with all the patents it buys? I’m betting on them being evil, corporate motto be damned, and turning into a huge patent troll. I hope I’m wrong, and they do something like what Elon Musk has done with some of the patents Tesla Motors holds — basically let anyone use the device/method/whatever because it will spur more innovation relevant to the company’s business.
Anagrams are interesting. “Don’t be evil” = Bend to Evil. Is manipulating search results to slew for their pet liberal causes and candidates evil? If knowledge is power, what exactly do they plan on doing with everything that have accumulated on everyone? Nothing evil, I am sure.
