The use of drones to photograph people on their own property could soon be illegal in the Sunshine State.
On Tuesday, the Florida Legislature sent a bill to Gov. Rick Scott that places limits on the use of remote-controlled drones...
....drones could not be used to photograph or record images of people or their property from the air. The restrictions would also apply to state and local governments.
The legislation does not call for any criminal penalties...

As an aside, let me observe: a Republican legislature and governor does MORE to truly protect privacy than Obama and his NSA thugs.
Can we also stop the likes of Google taking pictures of our houses from the air?
It’s interesting and revealing that this seems to attach to an individual running a drone.
As recently asked, does it apply to Google photographing my property?
You can bet it DOES NOT!!!
Don’t know, but you CAN block your house from being seen from street view. I have done that.
I am thinkin this is not a Jeb Bush push, if so,
fugetaboutit...
How about legalizing the use of shotguns against drones? That would place limits on their use.
I did that too but was wondering if there was a way Google could be stopped from the air or at least have my house and yard taken off from the air.
The problem is that this applies to drones , and not manned helicopters which is what the gov’t uses ... I have sheriffs fly over at least a few times a month.
How do you keep them away from landing strips and airports? Spoke to the FAA at Sun n Fun last week about this. They had a rather large booth there. He said this is a big concern for pilots. I can see a lot of mischief in these things. It will be just a matter of time that an aircraft will be brought down by one of these things. Sadly the government is going to have to put control on these as much as we all hate more government in our lives.
Radio controlled aircraft have been available to the public for over 50 years. Perhaps to make us totally "safe" the public should not be allowed access to private vehicles either since these can potentially be turned into car bombs.
With more government rules, you don't gain safety, you lose freedom.
