AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has asked the state guard to monitor a U.S. military training exercise dubbed "Jade Helm 15" amid some residents' suspicions of the U.S. government's plan.

Abbott's request Tuesday comes after some residents in Bastrop County questioned a U.S. Army commander during a town meeting about whether the government was planning to confiscate guns or implement martial law.

Thanks for cross reference...

It seems this situation wasn’t the wild imagination of the infamous one.

Are any of these US military operators controlled by Bammy in Garland, TX?

He is the lawless perverter in chief of all military - the question is how many are ready and willing to do his bidding if he decides to use them as a weapon against their countrymen...

Inside the Ring: Memo outlines Obama’s plan to use the military against citizens

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/may/28/inside-the-ring-directive-outlines-obamas-policy-t/#ixzz3Z60EeU2v

A 2010 Pentagon directive on military support to civilian authorities details what critics say is a troubling policy that envisions the Obama administration’s potential use of military force against Americans.

Discernment. We pray for discernment or the ability to tell the distraction conspiracies from the potent conspiracies. Problem with this event, is that it encompasses several states, it is huge. Also, what an odd name. Jade? The color of islam? Helm? To steer?

They might uncover the fact that we don’t trust Obama or anyone under him to do even the smallest thing on our behalf. The distrust is justly earned.

There was some talk on the local Austin station (Austin and Bastrop are only a few miles apart for anyone not familiar) about military personnel asking residents if they own guns. I don’t know if that was fact or just a circulating rumor, but if true, that would be enough to make any patriot wary.

Coupled with the fact that a lot of people down here have made no secret of their desire to legally separate Texas from Obamaland and it’s no wonder that an overt federal presence under Obama’s direction creates unrest.

In New York, the State Guard was barely military. We wore the uniforms, we learned drill and basic military radio, etiquette, how to read a topo-map and how to navigate with it, and how to liason with civilian police (we were MP's). We even got an abbreviated civilian police training to learn how they work.

But we were granted no firearms, nor any true combat training.

Not sure the State Guard will be very effective.

State guard in Texas is a little different.

It doesn't take a lot to observe.

I believe that is all that the governor has asked for now. Observation.

I do think the thing has been blown out of proportion a bit, but I also think the attempt on the part of the media to relegate legitimate concerns about the matter has a little more mockery in it than is supported by fact, and if you don't believe me, I'll leave comment to the Cherokee, the Nez Perce, and the Sioux. There is absolutely nothing wrong with citizens demanding an accounting by their federal government. There is nothing paranoid, nothing misplaced, only an absolutely justifiable requirement that the federal government be accountable for its activities.

I highly doubt this is either any takeover or a dress rehearsal for it - the personnel are entirely wrong, for one thing, for another, it would be so far out of bounds of the U.S. military that it scarcely bears considering. This is not about paranoia, fantasies, or post-apocalyptic fiction. This is about accountability. If the federal government is dismayed about the very existence of people's concerns, then its personnel might benefit from asking themselves why it is.

You made my point.

Which saves me from writing it.

There is ONE troubling issue, though, that Travis McGee points out: This also could involve 'conditioning'. Right now, we are shocked when we see convoys of military vehicles on domestic roads. We are alarmed when troops are moving around towns in full battle rattle. We are frightened when military helicopters hover and military aircraft roar overhead.

However, enough of these sort of training exercises, and we will become conditioned to these sights and sounds, and we do not sound the alarm at the appropriate time.

I would expect the Guard in Texas WOULD be different. New York is a horribly liberal state.

“Does anyone know the purpose of these ‘military training exercises’? “

Civil unrest training and dissident extraction. I’ll let you extrapolate from that on your own. :-)

The Army is running around up in Cooper’s Creek on the game management area here in GA. They keep running into individuals in full battle rattle with AR’s and binoculars observing them from ridgetops. :-)

http://kxan.com/2015/04/27/bastrop-residents-question-jade-helm-15-operation/

What is Jade Helm 15?

Lastoria said Jade Helm 15, an eight-week exercise from July 15 to Sept. 15,
is an exercise to train Special Operations soldiers in all branches of the military
for unconventional warfare. It is happening in not only Texas, but Arizona,
New Mexico and Utah.

The Army Special Operations Command announced the multistate exercise
last month. Many Bastrop County neighbors who came to the meeting asked why
the soldiers do not just train at Fort Bragg, N.C., where they have thousands
of acres of land. Lastoria said Realistic Military training, or RMT,
happens off of federal reservations and on private property because soldiers
would have to learn how to adapt to unfamiliar terrain.

He said people hear about RMTs and volunteer their private land to military
training, which is what Lastoria said happened in Bastrop. When asked, officials
said it would not release information on where the property is because the land
is privately owned, acknowledging that it would be up to the owner to do so.
Officials said no one is paid for the land or will receive a tax break of any kind.

How will this impact Bastrop?

Sixty. That’s the number of troops Lastoria said would take part in Jade Helm 15 in
Bastrop. When it comes to the town and impacting people, Lastoria said there will
be two Humvees and water buffalo, a tank used to carry water, that people may
see around the city.

He said part of the training includes role playing, with soldiers in their
uniform and others in civilian clothing, but officials assure they will do
their training only on the fenced-in property.

When questioned about about noise, Lastoria said they will not use live ammunition —
but may use blanks — on the land. He explained to neighbors that they will not be
able to hear them from acres away. There will be one night where a helicopter is
used, but Lastoria said neighbors will be notified ahead of time. According to the
United States Army Special Operations Command, announcements will be
made using reverse 911 calls, like when they have their night training with
the helicopter.

Lastoria said “risk assessment” was part of their planning for this mission when
it comes to the possibility of injuries, brush fires and other incidents. He
said there will be three special force medics on hand, as well as fire
extinguishers. Depending on summer conditions, Lastoria said they will not
use smoke grenades if there is a possibility of a brush fire.

Officials said they would have to update law enforcement and local leaders
with what they are up to and the following day’s plans.

Lastoria estimated the operation would bring in about $150,000 to the
area because of food, fuel and shopping.

Montana is large, and Texas is MUCH larger, but Alaska is twice the size of Texas.

Thanks for the info. NPR Idiots must not have noticed the 8 year Obama Takeover already happened - nobody can stave it off...

Here in TX there is more than just Texas State Guard deployed to guard Life, Freedom, and Family. We are everywhere. And we will never be accustomed to Federal menacing deployments.
