FORT HUACHUCA Following the story of Gideon in the Bible, Chaplain (Col.) Gregory Edison called on soldiers and civilians attending Thursdays annual prayer breakfast on Fort Huachuca to be ready and resilient as the Army re-energizes after more than a decade of war. Stating that conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq have put a tremendous strain on the nations military force, Edison pointed to five dimensions of strength emotional, family, physical, spiritual and social.
All these attributes that we talk about are right here in the sacred Scriptures, Edison said

And expect the unusual too. If it really is all about God in the end (and it is) then you will see Gideon like events. Little parties, huge exploits, underlining the truth that the dispositive power isn’t man’s but God’s.
I doubt God’s going to miraculously aid an army full of homos and cross-dressers.
Sin is going to pose a problem, but if it ever absolutely stopped God, that means God has lost all grace. Sometimes God provides for victories even in the face of sin, because of His larger plan which embraces the final conquest of sin.
