Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid:
I find it stunning that the NFL cares more about how much air is in a football than it cares about a racist franchise name. Senator Harry Reid (@SenatorReid) May 12, 2015
[Snip]
Meanwhile, Reid has long been critical of Redskins owner Dan Snyder and his decision to keep the team's name.
Snyder has to realize, he is on the losing side of history, Reid said in March 2014. And the sooner he does it, the better off we are. The Wizards, you know, they were the Washington Bullets. With all the killing that took place, the murders in Washington, Abe Pollin -- a very nice man -- decided 'I don't need any of this.' So they changed it to the Washington Wizards. We're all used to the Washington Wizards. And I don't know what [the Redskins will] change the name to, but we'll get used to it really quick.
In May 2014, Reid -- along with 49 other senators -- endorsed a letter imploring the league to force the Redskins to change their name.

It's called water on the brain ... the old libtard has suffered from the problem for years ... it recently took a turn for the worse.
Vell, if anyone knows about losing..
A hopeless, old retard with nothing important to do.
“I find it stunning that the NFL cares more about how much air is in a football than it cares about a racist franchise name.”
I find it stunning that the country keeps electing stupid eff’in people like you and Barry more than it does people who love this country.
Harry Reid would find it stunning if someone changed his oatmeal feeding time.
Why would a team deliberately choose a name that they believe is derogatory or degrading? “Redskins”, “Braves”, “Warriors”, etc, are obviously meant to be complimentary. I’ve yet to see a professional team with a name meant to insult themselves. ie, New Jersey Jackasses, or Baltimore Jerks.
I find it stunning that so many members of Congress, liberal ones anyway, think that it is a matter of national importance to talk about sports team nicknames in the first place. Aren’t there other issues such as the federal budget, national security matters, etc. Which should be receiving more attention????
On the other hand, maybe we’d be better off if they focused on sports, instead of those other things, they’d do less damage that way.
Has Dingy Harry ever provided whom it is that has lobbied him for changing the team name?
Or, is he simply pandering to a nebulous PC ideology?
Harry should worry about his own old hairy deflated balls more IMO.
The team name isn’t in violation of league rules.
Something was posted recently about the military’s use of words in their armament . . . tomahawks, apaches and other nomenclature using American-Indian names.
...just a flesh wound! hehe
Liberals/ Democrats wake up every morning and thank God Almighty for their precious Racism.
I honestly don’t know what they would do without it.
Its like Gollum and that Ring, all consuming all the time, all day, every day.
Which is obviously in honor of them. I believe American-Indians called themselves 'redskins'. And white people "palefaces".
They wouldn’t use it if it didn’t “work” to silence any criticism or opposition.
The NFL doesn’t really care about the inflation. If they did, the ball protocol would obviously be set up differently. They care that the average fan’s sensibilities have been offended.
