Agreed. While all of the "knowledgeable observers" are wringing their hands about W entering into Iraq precious little is being said about the ruinous decision that grasped defeat from a hard won victory.
From Libya to Afghanistan to Yemen the region is enflamed and the people holding the torch and the gas can are our loyal Iranian allies.

This is what frustrates me and also speaks to those who gave up their lives or a limb in Iraq: The mistake was NOT going in. The mistake was leaving. At the time I saw it as a way to suck in all the America hating jihadis to fight US troops rather than blow up shopping malls.
We still have a presence in Germany and Japan. I figured we’d be in Iraq indefinitely to ensure stability as well as a killing field for those who would desire to disrupt said stability.
