I think 2/3 s of Americans would vote for Netanyahu for President - less liberal American Jews.

Great essay. The legion of conservative Jews is growing, not vanishing as the MSM would have us believe. These days, Blennos, for one, does not feel isolated, but energized, vindicated.

These are spiteful people who think the Torah is (lehavdil) a "chrstian" document (chas vechalilah!), that the belief that G-d gave Israel to the Jewish People is "fascist," and that the idea that there is some metaphysical significance to the ingathering of the Jewish People into 'Eretz Yisra'el is the creation of "chrstian missionaries" (chas vechalilah!).
Non-religious Jews will assimilate, intermarry and very often end up religiously adrift. Some will simply cease to practice; others will be agnostic or atheist; some will become Christian. This has always happened, and it happens very rapidly when (as in most of America today) anti-Semitism ceases to be a major factor. The Jewish community is well aware of this; in the various mixed marriages among my friends over the years, the opposition has always come from the Jewish parents, and always because of the fear of assimilation. But in my limited experience, that objection has never, in the end, blocked the marriage.
I believe the IQ tests, and I sometimes think that the mostly liberal Jewish parents of my acquaintance, although they are much too polite to mention it, are counting on selective sorting via academic competence (coupled with residual cultural Judaism) to steer their kids into a nice, safe Jewish marriage. This is not a reliable strategy when Jews are only 1-2 percent of the population. Even in academically selective institutions, Jews will be heavily outnumbered. Without an explicit religious commitment, the rate of intermarriage will be very high.
I ask that because among Catholics you have a split between practicing Catholics and those who aren't Catholic but say they are (Pelosi) because their dad or grandfather was Irish/Italian/Spanish/French Canadian/Eastern European/German Catholic.
I saw “Jewish American Women” in th context of an article about Jewish American exceptionalism - and instantly transcribed that to “Jewish American Princesses against . . ."
I just retuned from a work trip to Israel and was shocked to find out how many liberal Israelis/Jews "just want peace".
I did however connect with many conservative Jews in Israel, but I can see how they only amount to the 144k :-)
It was very eye opening to me.
