Irish voters backed same-sex marriage by a landslide in a referendum marking a dramatic social shift in the traditionally Catholic country, government ministers and opponents of the bill said on Saturday.

Final results were not expected until later in the day, but ministers predicted Ireland had become the first country to adopt same-sex marriage via a popular vote by a margin of around two-to-one, just two decades after it decriminalized homosexuality.

Doesn’t bode well for any future remake of “The Quiet Man”.

Rome fell as its morality declined within, and she became open and prone to invasion from the barbarians.

So what is the difference between modern Western civilization and ancient Rome?

Very little, as time goes on....

As if it is going to make it even more easier to understand a “gay” Irishman???

Gawd, I can only imagine what that sounds like...

Diversity is the promotion of chaos by the destruction of Good; and then there-naming of chaos as Good.

Isaiah 5:20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

If it has to happen, better the people have their say as they’ve just done in Ireland, than leftist judges foistin it on them.

T’is the tantalizin’ aroma of Irish Spring, surely. Freshly dropped in the shower for ye, laddie.

Disgusting......one more reason to not visit the Emerald Isle.

Its already happening as family has been in decline so has the European population ever more prone to attack by Muslims and depended upon unassimilation foreign immigrants.

The only difference is we are finally starting to agree with the wisdom of their refusal to assimilate. Assimilating into a culture that rejects marriage and family will mean the end for your own. Your better off with your own family you old ways may be poor but they will keep your kin around. In the game of life that is the most critical achievement.

It is a shame the cultural and sadistic lies that have overtaken the west will now destroy it’s legacy.

Europe is dying this is just one of the signs.

May the curse of Cromwell be upon them again, for they have long gone past Connaught and right to hell.

No surprise. Over the centuries, Ireland has variously been defeated by the Vikings, Spain and England.

Now they've been defeated by the Queers.

Amen. As bad as it gets, the war is already won, and we all know how it ends.

We still need to fight though. Be proactive, pray, and armour up daily.

Prophecy of Akita, Japan, 1973, warning from Our Lady. The Akita, Japan prophecy has been deemed worthy of belief by the Catholic Church, a continuation of the Fatima prophecy.

The third message on October 13, 1973, the actual anniversary of the final visions and miracle of Fatima is as follows:

“As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful.

The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son. Each day, recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and the priests.

The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, and bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their Confreres. The Church and altars will be vandalized. The Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

“The demon will rage especially against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will no longer be pardon for them.”

Do you think mankind has become better since 1973?

I am of Irish ancestry and I grew up in a devoutly Catholic home. But I left the Catholic Church after the unrelenting horror of the sex abuse scandals and Rome's absolute recalcitrance in addressing the root of the problem.

I'm now officially a Fallen Away Catholic. I'm not a Protestant, which is quite a different thing.

I totally understand what my cousins across the pond are feeling. I'm so sick of the Catholic Church and its weird problems that it is incapable of addressing in any meaningful way. I mourned the loss for a few years, but I'm over it now.

At least with "gay marriage" (an oxymoron if there ever was one) you have the perversion of sodomy out in the open instead of skulking in the sacristy. I prefer it this way over all the children molested by priests in secret and all of those destroyed lives. At least this way I know who the enemy is.
