I pray for the safety of the good people in those neighborhoods. But thugs killings thugs? That’s a win-win.

Good. Cops, stay out of danger. If they want to throw you in jail for doing your job, then don’t do it.

It should be patently obvious that the city of Baltimore’s residents do not wish the law to be enforced, therefore, don’t enforce it.

For “believers in the system” they sure seem to have gone infidel pretty quick.

I think the word you're looking for is 'feral'. e.g.

For “believers in the system” they sure seem to have gone feral pretty quick.

We're the 'infidels', they're the feral citizens. Or feral government, I get mixed up sometimes.

Yep, clock in, answer radio calls, clock out. It’s as simple as that. You get paid the same amount of money whether you’re “proactive” or not, plus no one can accuse you of failing to be “proactive”: “Sorry Sarge, I just didn’t see anything suspicious today.” It’s not like Sarge was in the car with you to see what you were seeing (or not seeing).

Naturally, the union will promote the government mantra. Who is to blame for all these murders? Naturally, the police. This is what these people wanted from the beginning, NO MORE COPS ON THE STREETS. Hey, they are getting their wish. Now let them police their own neighborhood. When the NATIVES” get tired of spending their Saturdays burying their children, maybe they’ll think again. But I doubt it

Twenty years ago a family member was a patrolman and routinely was circled by AA in Coattesville PA who would attempt to distract patrolman to grab evidence, usually an illegal gun, in order to shift blame to the police department and/or weaken the case of criminal action by a brother. So unfortunately if you speak to police being circled, as currently in Baltimore, you will learn that this is an old strategy in that community against those tasked with protecting the community, or more like cleaning up the mess that they make.

This is NOT RACISM, it is a culture clash pure and simple. A segment is not happy in the USA but will not leave for anywhere where they can live a better life. So the liberal media will continue to air their chronic complaining, which usually has the opposite effect long term; it creates a deaf ear. IMHO

they're not playing chicken....they're not profiling and their letting little things go...like suspicious loitering for example....

its a no win situation for them...damned if the do, damned if they don't....

besides, haven't we been lectured that we racist just have to stop making a big deal of all the little things that these people just do, because of their culture...like beatings, and shooting up drugs, and killing each other...

Article says Gray was “wrongly arrested.” Shouldn’t that be “allegedly wrongly arrested?” or did I miss something? Has the trial been held already?

The ones who arrested Gray should not have ignored his pleas for help. A man died in police custody. Nothing he had done deserved the death penalty. They need and deserve a fair trial, preferably outside Baltimore.

That said... I don't blame the police one iota for being reticent to do their jobs now for the stated reasons. Let the city reap the rewards of decades of liberalism. If they don't learn the lesson, let the city devolve into anarchy and become a shanty town (I guess it's more than halfway there).

The Civil War ended 150 years ago; 150 years from now we’ll be hearing the same nonsense (because we know who will be living in the worst areas 150 years from now - they simply refuse to better themselves).

It is interesting that a major media outlet doesn’t use “allegedly” in a case that hasn’t been adjudicated, when normally they do so even in open and shut cases that are well-witnessed and maybe even on video.
