Texas Sen. Ted Cruz drew raucous cheers yesterday from a crowd of hundreds of Bay State voters gathered at the Andover home of state Rep. Jim Lyons, where the presidential hopeful took shots at presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and President Obama.
And while his jabs at Clinton and Obama were met with cheers from the crowd, Cruzs opening line may have generated the most enthusiastic hollers: Tom Brady was framed ... and I have it on good authority that Hillary Clinton did it.
The heavy turnout at Lyons Highvale Lane home, where some were turned away at the door once maximum capacity was reached, came as a surprise, even to Cruz.
Who would have predicted 500 people in Andover, Mass.? Cruz asked before echoing the same mantras that have defined his campaign event appearances in recent months; calling for an overhaul of the Affordable Care Act, Common Core and Obamas approach to foreign policy.

Attended this event with family, I was surprised at the size of the crowd, considering it was not well publicized. My wife heard about it through a Free Republic post. Cruz was great! Very patient with the crowd, doing pictures and asking questions. He is the real deal, more charismatic than I realized. Let's get people to rally around Cruz before they block him out with large field! I suspect the party fears he will shred their favored candidates on the debate platform so they are pushing more candidates to jump in. Here is a YouTube
video of the crowd going in.

Thanks for the post and the video, which provide some hope! So far, we have 8 declared Pubbie candidates with possibly 8-10 more in the works. Whether planned or just by chance, the net effect of a 16-18 candidate early field might be to dilute the impact of a Ted Cruz and possibly throw the advantage to a big $$$ candidate like Bush. Let’s pray that the message and the quality of a Cruz candidacy can shine through this murkiness.

Tim-P, I got to hand it to you for sticking it out in Mass, I left eons ago. It is good to see amongst the decent people of MA that they are not all Moonbats Hacks and Lackey's to paraphrase Howie Carr. I have been to a Presidential-Run Event for Herman Cain an photos of a Sarah Palin get together ( in the extreme heat which may have had a many stay home ) but this is a
lotta people compared to the other two...
Good News...

Tim, PS....I got to hand it to Senator Cruz. IMHO this is going deep into Faux-cahontas / Cankels enemy territory, that takes big cohones. You'd never see the other 2 do this in deep Red parts of Texas....

Nice... 500 people? I think the GOPe is trying to get as many people in so JEB will be the losing candidate. Time for the RINOs to leave and let America loving Americans run the Republican Party.

This is my point for those who cite polling saying that Cruz is only at 5%. For some reason, he is being asked to keynote many big events across the country. Which other candidate was doing an event like this in a deep blue state?
There is a reason for this...Cruz sells. He is expanding the map. He is playing and able to play in areas where his opponents can not.

Totally agree! Big cheers when Ted said he would work to repeal every bit of Common Core. Common Core is hated in Mass, even among typically democrat voters that I talk to. Big cheers also for defending 2nd, 4th, and 10th amendments, repealing every bit of Obama Care, and abolishing the IRS. Turning back the over reach of federal government is a theme that resonates. Same here, donated once we got home from the event at

Here is a YouTube video of the crowd going in. Thanks. It really gives you an idea of how large a crowd 500 people is. Outstanding!, especially this early in the race, and in Massachusetts on a beautiful Saturday in May.
