IRS sends Congress unsigned form letter to brush off demands for Clinton Foundation investigation

The IRS responded to a Republican request for an investigation into the Clinton Foundation's tax-exempt status with a one-page form letter that starts with "Dear Sir or Madam."

In May, more than 50 House Republicans asked the IRS to review the Clinton Foundation's tax-exempt status, after it became clear that the foundation had failed to report millions of dollars in grants from foreign governments.

That letter, led by Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, said a review was "appropriate" given that this money was accepted and not reported while Hillary Clinton was serving as secretary of state.

In response, the IRS sent Blackburn a form letter, which Blackburn received late Wednesday. The letter thanked her for submitting the request, and said the IRS has an "ongoing examination program" to ensure tax-exempt groups comply with tax law.

"The information you submitted will be considered in this program," it said. The letter was from Margaret Von Lienen, director of exempt organizations examinations, but she didn't sign it.

Blackburn said the perfunctory response is far below the level of customer service members of Congress should be getting.

"The IRS response is not acceptable and lacking ...

“...the perfunctory response is far below the level of customer service members of Congress should be getting.”

It’s far below the level of service any TAXPAYER should get!

As for Congress - you decide...

Not this or even recent congresses.

Politics is bloodsport. For many years now congress has abdicated its power and its responsibilities. For that, they have earned the scorn of their opponents.

But in reality, they are merely playing their role in the uniparty as a pressure relief valve for the holdout right wingers. As we die out, the uniparty wins through attrition. They keep screwing us and do not even try hiding it. their supporters then scream and yell at us so they do not have to.

They are playing their role. Nothing more. America ended the day Reagan left office.

The GOP has talent. The talent of a whore or of a pimp.

Yup. I actually give them credit. They are far smarter tha their supporters. Just like any pimp is far smarter than his whores. I mean lets face it, the GOP pimp gave the pimp hand to the political right how many times in the last decade? And the voter-whores never tried helping themselves or leaving. They stood and asked for more, convincing themselves it was an act of love and they really deserved it. That is indeed a talent.

Us GOP voters/whores got hardly a crumb thrown to us. I can’t think of anything except on the issue of of gun rights.

Which Barry then undermines, with GOP complicity, every day.

Besides, even old used up whores can serve a pimp. They bring in new whores to profit from. (If you don’t vote GOP no matter what, you hate America!)

If it was a letter demanding that the Tea Party be investigated, it would have been acted on immediately. But what the hell, this is exactly what a majority voted for two times in succession. So the public is getting what they demanded.

There is only one party in Washington DC - the government party

Its made up of government, its interests, those who help it grow, its dependents and its cronies and supporters. Everyone else is on the outside.

I feel bad for those of us that stood on principle and voted for conservatism and for the America the founders intended. For the rest majority, I hope they get the entire farm of chickens coming to each of them personally.

And I hope it hurts. A lot.

Good point. The GOP has shown itself not be a true believer in the Bill of Rights(Constitution) through their accommodation with the Democrats.

I am tired of being played like a chump/whore by the GOP.I am not shy about telling my acquaintances, friends, and kin about what I think in this regard. Good night.

Thats what we need to do. Don’t make it easy/give them the cover they want. Make them fight to justify their liberalism and make damn sure their liberal choices eat at them.

There is much similarity with the Obama administration and what happened in Venezuela under Chavez.

1. Chavez won the election
2. Chavez then packed the judiciary with corrupt Marxists.
3. Chavez defied the Venezuelan Constitution that is
modeled on the United States Constitution.
4. He usurped the military and installed Marxist cronies
in the positions of power.
5. Chavez ignored the laws of the land.
6. Chavez changed the constitution and his corrupt
judiciary was complicit with this.
7. Chavez relentlessly destroyed his enemies with the
power of the state and his corrupted courts.
8. Economic destruction was blamed on the opposition.
9. Many of his political enemies were jailed.
10. Some of his political enemies were killed.
11. Chavez used mobs to attack his enemies and cause civil
strife.
12. Chavez used class envy from day one until his death to
divide his people.

Except for number 10 Obama has done the same. They used
the same book of instructions on how to destroy freedom.

I lived in Venezuela before Chavez. It was a nice place then. I feel for the people.

The second election that Chavez “won” and his successor Maduro “won” were both stolen. Venezuela will never see freedom again via the ballot box. It is not important who the people vote for but who counts the votes is important. Freedom will only be restored by the gun or not at all.

Look up the strange deaths surrounding “Man’s Country” and Rev Wright’s church about the time Barry ran for office.

Thanks to a complicit Jimmy Carter, as I recall.
