While I admittedly know nothing about horse racing, I distinctly remember a story told about Zayat selling American Paraoah but immediately regretting it and buying him back.

I looked for the story today:

http://www.nj.com/horse-racing/index.ssf/2015/06/belmont_stakes_ahmed_zayat_all_smiles_after_american_pharoah_claims_triple_crown.html

Two years ago, Zayat put American Pharoah to a yearling sale, believing the Kentucky-bred colt could fetch $1 million. When the bidding stalled at $300,000, Zayat decided to buy American Pharoah back by writing in that amount to himself.

It’s proven to be a worthy investment, as American Pharoah has career earnings of $4.5 million after winning his last seven starts

Above it says Zayat decided to buy American Paraoah back.

That’s good enough for me!
