WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. lawmakers approved legislation key to securing a hallmark Pacific trade deal by a comfortable margin on Wednesday, advancing President Barack Obama's efforts to strengthen U.S. economic ties with Asia. Related Stories

After a six-week congressional battle including two brushes with failure, some fancy legislative footwork and myriad backroom deals to keep the legislation alive, the Senate voted 60 to 38 to grant Obama the power to negotiate trade deals and send them on a fast track through Congress. The bill next goes to Obama for his signature.

Final passage could push the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a central part of Obama's foreign policy pivot to Asia, over the finish line and also boost hopes that an ambitious trade deal with the European Union could soon be completed.

The TPP, potentially a legacy-defining achievement for Obama, would be the biggest free trade agreement in a generation and rank with China's ascension to the world trade stage and the North American Free Trade Agreement liberalizing trade between the United States, Canada and Mexico.

But TPP ministers still have tricky issues to resolve, ranging from monopoly periods for next-generation medicines to the treatment of state-owned enterprises.

Well, the Senate was originally intended to be a house of lords of a sort.

This Obamatrade deal is not just about trade but about Obama changing U.S. immigration laws . It allows Obama to import hundreds of millions of 3rd world immigrants into the USA from among the 6 billion people in the 3rd world. Many on this forum campaigned for this Obamatrade immigration agenda disguised as free trade.

This Obama trade deal is a trojan horse. It’s disguised as “free trade” What It really allows is for Obama to flood the USA with an unlimited number of 3rd world immigrants ...

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2015/04/dick_morris_fast_track_could_lead_to_unlimited_immigration.html

This Fast track gives Obama power to make agreements that override U.S. IMMIGRATION laws and any law. It’s the destruction of the republic. It gives obama unlimited dictatorial power to destroy the U.S. Proof here :

http://www.conservativehq.com/node/20233 .

Because of today's vote Obamatrade now will pass . Today's vote passing TPA made Obamatrade a certainty because TPA banned adding amendments to TPP . The Senate could have used amendments to stop TPP . Now TPP won't be stopped. so those who campaigned here for it’s passage are also responsible for the destruction of America. FYI there are 6 billion people in the 3rd world. Obama is about to bring most of them to the USA .They are coming here now so the USA is done.

It was Boehner, McConnell and Obama versus Pelosi and Reid. Boehner, McConnell and Obama delivered more House and Senate votes.
