THIS is the seminary in question, controlled by the Army of Northern Virginia for most of the battle:
Ban symbols of "hate speech" by enacting fascism, which is pure hate speech and oppression (and whitewashing of history). Got it. Your short moustache is showing, Spangler.
At the next reenactment there those playing CSA troops should dress instead as Smurfs, movie monsters, Disney characters, etc. since they’re now not allowed to identify which side they’re on.
Getting beyond ridiculous.
I appreciate the right of a private or even government institution to restrict what is shown on its grounds, but to ban it even during legitimate reenactments which try to reflect real events is absurd.
What incredible courage 150 years later on this now populist issue.
The goal is to end reenactments (see: “Things White People Do”) with the purpose of making us ignorant of our history.
the administration announced it would be banning symbols of hate speech and racism on seminary grounds
There in lies the problem. The Flag is not hate speech. Just because a group or people decides it is does not mean it is. Maybe to them but what about the millions of others that disagree. You have made a poor decision based on PC nonsense. Shame on you...........
But let me guess, you would still be able to put up a poster of Lenin or Mao or a Communist flag of China, the Soviet Union or Vietnam in your dorm room or office without objection.
How soon the people forget religions involvement in the black movement in the mid 60’s.
This is no different: It is a religious movement to support the government decree in a strictly political manner...even though there was supposed to be a separation of Church and State.
Another movement by churches was in support of the gay rights fiasco too. If not for the religious zealots it is entirely possible gay rights and marriage would not occur at all.
The old phrase “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” lost its meaning long ago and now has been contorted to mean “do unto others BEFORE they can do it unto you.”
So when will Hollywood use CGI to remove the confederate naval jack from all of its movies. I can’t wait to watch Gettysburg and the entire southern side has no standards or colors.
