Will Good Doctors Be There When You Are Most in Need?
The American Medical Money Machine ^ | July 7, 2015 | James R. Goldberg

Yes, some doctors do make good money and they should. But the erroneous idea that all doctors are rich is simply untrue. As the middle class in this country becomes extinct, great resentment is being misdirected at people who have dedicated themselves to years of education and lifetimes of work.

Apparently it’s just fine for the insurance companies to skirt anti-trust laws. Maybe it’s time for doctors to organize and unionize so they can fight the government and the insurance mafia and claw back the dignity and compensation they have sweated to earn. Good doctors have paid the price.

We are humans. Like machines we break, and at one time or another during our lives most of us will become a medical patient. Many people, approximately half according to recent statistics, have one kind of resentment about their doctors or another. Not enough time with their doctors, waiting too long to get an appointment, the doctor is distracted during office visits by filling out (mandatory) records for the government… the list goes on.

Well, medicine is hell for many physicians. If they can afford to, they are leaving medicine. What’s more, many young students are not going into medicine because there are no rewards. Nurse Practioner staff are stepping-in with a fraction of a fraction of doctoral medical education. They are being substituted for doctors in the treatment of you and your family.

Why? Because they cost a fraction of what a doctor is paid.

As a third-year nursing student my daughter was instructed on how to give a complete physical. Kinda knew where we were headed then.

"Will Good Doctors Be There When You Are Most in Need?"

Well, at least we will have plenty of diversity, affirmative-action, foreign "doctors" standing by, ready to provide the warm embrace of government 'care.'

Wait until the Muslim doctors take over, as they have in the NHS in Britain. As a Christian friend told me, the. Muslim doctors are only too happy to perform abortions on English women.

Cost Benefit Analysis... Good doctors lose bad doctors win.

Organize yes but unionize is jumping from the pot to the pan.

This question addresses only a small part of the tyranny being inflicted on the working taxpayers of this country, the few of us who will be left.

Expert doctors will be there for the political elite because they have ensured that will happen.

They will be there for illegals, minorities, and other democrat welfare constituents because the political elite has ensured that will happen.

They will be there for the union bosses and other select democrat supporters because the political elite has ensured that will happen.

They will be there for the truly rich because they can pay for it and the political elite has ensured that their rich supporters are taken care of.

For the rest of us, we will receive the dregs of coverage and medical expertise and will be chained to support the rest as tax slaves for as long as we might live. We will be bound against our will to support these dictators and slugs for as long as we can avoid having disease or inadequate medical care kill us.

IS IT TIME? Shouldn’t the second revolution already be in motion? King George was benevolent and caring compared to this POS dictator and his party.

The top doctors will soon be found only at exclusive clinics catering to the rich and VIP politicians. The peons will be seeing physicians assistants and nurse practitioners and on long wait lists to see foreign trained doctors of dubious reputation.

Good doctors? Maybe not so much.

But Doctor Muhammad will be there to ‘take care’ of us infidels in our dotage. Thanks to the poor quality of our public schools and the high cost of medical school.

Many of the good doctors cannot afford malpractice insurance anymore. Yes, they may make 150,000 but a lot of this is needed for overhead and insurance. Students are choosing not to go into medicine. Computer programing, business and other jobs where they make good money and they are not responsible for life and death situations and have no reason for malpractice insurance.
Doctors offices are disappearing. Physicians are working now for hospital conglomerates who are charging a crap load of money for a simple office call. Afterall, everyone needs their cut of the money including insurance companies. Who pays? The ill. Who’s out of a job? Many good physicians. The result? The price of a simple office call has risen 500% in the last 8 years. Go figure.

I totally agree... but it would be curious to see a nationwide doctor strike. Kinda like letting the garbage pile up, there would be all those homeless and unemployed people banging on the doors of emergency rooms. If you haven't been to an emergency room lately, I don't recommend it unless you are wheeled in by the EMTs. Last time I went I made the mistake of buying a soda for one man, then I was mobbed.

Anyway on unionizing, I guess that's mostly why they never have exerted their power but perhaps the time is coming. The foreigner doctors wouldn't care and cross the picket lines anyway. It's always a lose-lose situation.

Absolutely right. The author is right when he says going into medicine is not a job choice, it's a life choice. Why does everything that was once full of dignity and honor have to change and be ruined?

What's also happening are these "pay for performance" deals where staff doctors are not paid a salary in the second year, they are paid by "relative value units" (RVUs) based on what they did in the first year. You did this number of procedures, you had this many referrals, you brought up the revenue of your department by this much percent.

Oh, they are here and coming in droves. Don't you know they are Part of the National Fabric" of America?

And don't forget: “The main terrorist threat in the United States is not from violent Muslim extremists, but from right-wing extremists. Just ask the police.”

Sigh.

First and foremost, the next time an American goes to his or her Doctor (God forbid) ask this Doctor a question:

Are you my Doctor, representing my interest and good health, or are you working for the Federal Government collecting data on me and transmitting it to the Federal Government?

The answer will very surprising to you! I go to the VA Medical Center for treatment and ask my Doctor (physicians assistant), no gets to see a Doctor anymore, and I proceeded to ask him this question. His answer was I have to follow [orders!]

And, there it is my fellow Americans! Whether you will be able to see a good Doctor when you need to is irrelevant at this time. It is who you are seeing at all that should scare the hell out of every American!

Likely not.

A good laptop will be there, though, which the doc or PA will attend to the most. Must enter much data, correctly and thoroughly!

Many ‘good’ doctors are actively in retirement or career change planning now, we often hear and I believe. Their hearts won’t allow them to play spy with patients they actually care about.

We are getting the America, and American health care system, that 47% of Americans deserve.

If I could give any advice, it would be to de-obese yourselves, start regular exercise, cut down on alcohol and smokes, and eat better.

That is a huge factor in staying well and avoiding the chronic diseases that will make your senior years a big drag.
