Motorcycle riders sent letters to officials connected to the Waco Twin Peaks arrests, putting them on notice to CEASE AND DESIST ALL DEFAMATION OF MOTORCYCLE RIDERS CHARACTER AND REPUTATION. ...

Another voices opinion that it was the bikers that started the whole thing:
“Rodriguez’ widow, Mary, told the AP her husband’s death was, “something that shouldn’t have happened,” adding that the police should’ve done something to stop the rumble between Bandidos and Cossacks motorcycle club members from happening in the first place.”

So you can’t cite any facts I ignored. Got it.
“Proper bail does not depend on many factors.
It depends strictly on likelihood of flight.”
No, that is only one factor, there are many taken into consideration:

Wow, looks like we got a 3rd grader here!
Don’t let your mommy and daddy catch you posting on FR, you might get grounded.
No, the real substantive facts are not known at this time. Yet you saw there was a shootout, and people got killed—that was all you needed.
“Yet you saw there was a shootout, and people got killedthat was all you needed.”
Yes, that is really all the facts that are needed to debunk the ridiculous assertion that this was a “peaceable assembly”.
LOL, we are beyond that nonsense. The shootout occurred. No one knows for sure how and why the shooting started, or at least the reports have not been vetted in discovery, court, etc. This is critical in determining if there was LEO overreach, if the bikers started it, why so many bikers are still in jail, and so on.
“No one knows for sure how and why the shooting started, or at least the reports have not been vetted in discovery, court, etc.”
Every account that has come out has said it started as a conflict between the two groups of outlaw biker gangs out in the parking lot. Sure, you can hem and haw about that not being confirmed in court, but the fact remains, there are no competing accounts of how the event started, except the musings of people on the internet who weren’t there.
No doubt, it’s compelling to form an opinion and take sides early. But if we have learned anything in these days, it is that the media and even law enforcement can heavily skew initial impressions away from the actual events.
“But if we have learned anything in these days, it is that the media and even law enforcement can heavily skew initial impressions away from the actual events.”
Fine, and if we had any evidence of that, or even a single person who was a witness telling us that, it might be reasonable to think that may have happened. That’s just not the case.
Also, law enforcement in the U.S. has never charged into a crowd of hundreds of peaceful people shooting with automatic weapons either. The closest I can think to that is Kent State, decades ago, and that was the National Guard, and the crowd still wasn’t peaceable. So we don’t even have any comparable past incidents that match the crazy stories people are trying to pass around. You have to basically suspend all logic and common sense to believe those theories are going to turn out to be true.
Points well taken.
There are 4 bikers still in jail. One who can’t make $100k bail. 3 who might be able to post bail, but would then have their bail revoked for outstanding charges in other non-related charges in other counties.
