Good for him. Universities are nothing but liberal jobs programs where liberal professors do little to earn 6 figure salaries. All the while poisoning the minds of young students.

Cruz/Walker for me.

We’re picking away at the universities here in Michigan as well. There was legislation recently introduced to open public university board meetings to the public.

It’s time to break the government-education-media complex! Good job, Governor Walker!

Huge victory means winning over a Democrat majority. In actuality, it should be a major change in how monies are spend and accounted for. Never happen here or anywhere else it seems!

We seem to continually rate politicians for little achievements instead of major policy changes. I guess that is politics as usual..Of course!

We have so little to cheer for so small changes are celebrated!

He’s done a terrific job and keeps doing it.
Very admirable candidate.

What you said.

I, too, am a big Cruz guy, but Walker seems to be doing a real good job up there. I think it’s crazy that Cruz and Walker supporters are arguing here - we should both agree that the other guy is a whole lot better than Tennessee Jeb or Ricky Ricardo or squirrel eater or most of the others.

I’m with you - GREAT WORK WALKER, but stay in Madison for now and get your positions on national issues buttoned up a bit more, particularly on Amnesty. Instead of trusting Republican ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way), try trusting the people that have elected you, and even many of the people that voted against you.

Instead of telling you what the Republican ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way) have been telling you, you’ll find that virtually EVERY REPUBLICAN VOTER is against Open Borders and even the majority of Democrat voters are against Open Borders. It’s critical that you understand that these Republican ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way) are a 5th Column and are not acting either in your interest or the country’s interest.

...then come back and run when you’re up to speed on what Republicans VOTERS want, rather than what the Republican ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by then way) want.

What this does is transfer power to university administrators, who are often just as liberal, or more so, than the typical tenured professor.

I'm not sure what impact this will have. Presumably those who have already won tenure can't have it removed without cause so it would affect future hires or tenure-track faculty who have not yet been awarded tenure. Private universities will not be affected. If a public university wanted to keep its tenure policies unchanged, how does this budget prevent them from doing so?

Important notes:

The freeze on in-state tuition will put the blocks to jacking up costs on in-state students to pay for foreign students.

And tenured professors can now be canned for financial reasons, which means as long as it can be justified financially, it works. We’re not firing him because he is a radical racist who plagiarizes everything he writes. It is because of “budget uncertainty”.

I love Cruz and Walker but I almost feel like it’s too late to fix this country with baby steps. Go ahead and flame away but I’m thinking maybe Trump because he wants it right now.

On the flip side I do see where Walker is able to work within his government but I’m kind of torn on all this. Maybe I’ll just wait for Karl Rove and the media to tell me who I should vote for. :-/

While academics have accused Walker of sabotaging the school’s competitiveness, Walker has refused to yield, arguing that professors should be teaching more classes.

I hope Walker does push for professors to teach more classes and do less research. All those hundreds of millions of dollars in research funding will have to go somewhere and Missouri should be able to get some of it.
