Hillary Clinton scored a major union endorsement on Saturday when the American Federation of Teachers announced its support for the Democratic frontrunner.
The endorsement is not a surprise, as the AFT also backed Clinton in 2007 in her primary battle against then-Sen. Barack Obama, but it is the first national union to endorse a candidate in the 2016 Democratic primary

In other news, the sun came up again this morning! What I am waiting for is the SCOTUS ruling on the CA teachers lawsuit against the Agency Shop. It will be five to four, I just hope Kennedy has his big boy pants on.

If a candidate comes out against NCLB, Common Core, RTT, they will resonate with parents, teachers and administrators. Trump made a stab at it the other day - hope it gains legs. The teachers still blame Bush for NCLB and all the testing, raises being tied to students' test scores, etc.
From what I've heard, teachers are furious that Randy Randi has thrown away any leverage by declaring so early. Not that she's ever had a thought in her head which would actually benefit teachers. Far from it.
