Bernie Sanders is getting people pretty excited, excited enough to claim Jesus was a socialist. Sanders, the socialist senator from Vermont seeking the Democratic Party nomination, has been drawing larger crowds than expected of late. At one stop in Birmingham, Alabama, Sanders was expected to draw 30 people and instead drew 300, according to AL.com.
Among the excited crowd was 56-year-old Peter Stuart who gave the news outlet the socialist quote.
"He's got me excited in politics again," Stuart said. "He's not just in it for the money or his own career. To me, he's what politicians should be."
Stuart said he never volunteered for a campaign before, but has donated to Sanders and plans on giving "a little bit each month." He said Sanders' democratic socialist views are aligned with his Christian beliefs.
"I think Jesus was a socialist," he said, adding that Republicans "talk Christian values and family values, but they don't do them."
Sanders has been performing better than expected with his insurgent campaign. While still far back of frontrunner Hillary Clinton's 58% support in the latest CNN poll, Sanders is drawing support from 15% of Democratic voters, something few would have expected a few months ago.
Jesus espoused personal charity, love and compassion for your neighbor for sure, but I can’t find a scripture reference where he called for the State to be in charge of Charity.
My brother in-law likes to spout this nonsense and up until now I have kept quiet for the sake of family unity, no more. It is absolute blasphemy to compare a pro death, communist to the son of God.

In 2008, the libs were saying that Jesus was a community organizer.
So was Hitler.
Whereas socialists just do each other.
By this thinking a traditional family is a socialist organization with only about 1 in 4 people employed, and the military is pretty much a communist organization.

Well, if you’re a Democrat, you believe that Jesus was a gay socialist. Not the Messiah, but a wise philosopher who believe in progressivism and equal rights for GLBTQXYZ.
Jesus envisioned people helping the poor of their own volition.
He didn’t envision the government stealing their money and handing it to others.
We can see today, why not.
Capitalism works because work is incentivized.
You work, you eat. The harder you work, the more comfortably you life.
If you help others, you hold them to account. They have to do something, to get the hand up. The intent is for them to get back on their feet, become successful, and then help others.
Communism doesn’t work because work is dis-incentivised.
You sit on your ass, you eat. The less you work, the more successful you think you are, because you got the same amount for doing less. You get what you need no matter what. On top of that, you do under the table deals for more income. If can pull of working full time, you do it anyway and don’t tell the government.
Nobody holds you to account. You never plan on getting off of it.
They will all hate Jesus unless he starts to get them votes. I love how every single lefty atheist I know plasters anything the Pope does these days all over Facebook. They spent 5 years trashing any Christian, made nothing but jokes about people that pray, then use the Pope to legitimize their political beliefs.
What’s so sickening about Democrats ... if either blacks or Hispanics (actually, I guess it’s “non-white Hispanics” like George Zimmerman) would become a swing group or people that lean GOP in elections, the N-word and/or any slur dealing with south of the border folk would become fair use on television again. It is so sickening how they use people. Filth.

Well in a traditional family, of course there is love between family members. Socialist governments only love their fellow citizens to the extent their confiscated wages keep them in power. The U.S. military is of course an all volunteer force.
More accurately, He is a monarch.
Socialism and communism are coercive, and subvert free will - essentially making people slaves. Thus neither bear a resemblance to the the intentions of the God that Jesus called Father.
