Hillary Clinton Bemoans ‘Hair and Makeup Tax’ on Women’s Time

"It's a daily challenge"

Hillary Clinton said that women have to work extra hard to get ready in the morning.

In an online question-and-answer session on Facebook, the former Secretary of State was asked about her morning routine by a female Facebook staffer who noted that she has to spend more than 30 minutes getting ready while her boyfriend “zips out the door.”

“I wonder about how the ‘hair and makeup tax’ affects other women — especially ones I admire in high-pressure, public-facing jobs,” asked Libby Brittain, who added that as a “young professional woman” she’d like to know how Clinton handles it while “staying focused on the ‘real’ work ahead.”

Clinton agreed that it’s a problem.

“Amen, sister — you’re preaching to the choir,” she wrote. “It’s a daily challenge. I do the best I can — and as you may have noticed, some days are better than others!”

Though lighthearted, the exchange touched on a serious issue that has bothered Clinton for a while. During a town-hall meeting with students in Kyrgyzstan in 2010, Clinton was asked by a moderator if she had any favorite clothing designers. She responded by asking pointedly, “Would you ever ask a man that question?

She's really digging deep and pissing me off. Does she think that women, (even men who use make-up) are going to vote for her for the way she sympathizes with the problems of putting make-up on? They just put it on and don''t bother making an issue about it because that's how it is. But Hillary's got a point. Taking a good look at her proves what I'm saying. Make-up doesn't change the complexion of her ugly puss one iota. So, she's saying I could be doing a whole lot more of questionable stuff if only I wouldn't have to spend the time to hide all the the warts, craters and fissures with all this stuff, cause it's all lipstick on a porker.

The next thing we'll hear her whining about the monthly time she used to spend (but not anymore, she's centuries too old for that)that men don't have a need for. Well, Hillary discuss it with God.

Well, one thing she wouldn't dare mention is the time she spends with her handy tool, Lady Gillette, you know for Huma and others she covets. She's not going to make an issue about that. Men have been shaving centuries before Lady Gillette was even conceived. So Hillary just STFU.

Clearly, it’s worth it - considering hot hot, sexy, and glamorous Hillary always looks.

Yes. We all want to know about the difficulties of morning makeup and hair coloring. It’s so much more important than Benghazi and email servers and such. It is of great comfort to know that should she become President, we won’t see her gray hair emerging as her tenure proceeds. We’ll really dodge a bullet there!

Yet she’d have no problem with the white people tanning bed tax.

LOL....one thing I learned in my marraige.....women wear make-up for men sometimes...and sometimes they wear it for other women( to look better)....sometimes TDGF.....depends on the mood.

The other thing I learned.......never suggest she might want to touch up before leaving the house......just dont.

The government should start gathering statistics on how much time men and women spend each day getting ready for work. It’s time that someone addressed this disparity. Maybe they could criminalize hiring men.

I can understand Hillary’s point.

It must be hard for her to spend six hours getting ready.

Most women can spend a few minutes and look great.

Does anyone seriously believe she does her own makeup? Well, maybe, from the way she looks at times - but, seriously, she has people.

“Nobody makes women spend their time doing makeup.”

Ditto! Bingo! - Having to SHAVE your face all over, plus shampoo every day as many men do (because of oily hair), plus all the other things that HUMAN BEINGS have to do to keep themselves clean & fairly presentable renders the “grooming” proposition just about even. (The “makeup” thing can be simplified a lot!)
