John Dickerson and Frank Luntz attempt to square the fact that Donald Trump got a standing ovation for a speech in Iowa, in which he said John McCain was only a war hero, "Because he was captured."
FRANK LUNTZ: First off, all ten presidential candidates got standing ovations.
So yes, he is being accurate [that he got a standing O], but that is not actually what happened. The standing ovations for Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, the standing ovations for Huckabee, Jindal, were far more enthusiastic than the one for Trump.
Second, he does speak straight. He says it the way it is, and the American people are desperate. They want someone who is honest and accountable, the #2 attribute the America people are looking for is someone who says what they mean and means what they say, and Trump does do that.

No he didn’t get a standing ovation because the others did to. LOl.
Frank Luntz is a Putz. Go away and take your your focus groups with you.
Luntz is old school. Free Republic is new school.
Go comb your rug, Luntz!
You’d be much more convincing if you’d lose the “dog”, as Tom Hanks’ boss called it in “NOTHING IN COMMON”. Even if you’re as bald as Elmer Fudd.
Occam’s Razor: NOBODY CAN STAND MCCAIN!!!
I don’t trust Luntz and his hand-picked groups.
Because it matters less who he was 50 years ago than who he is now. He has overused his hero card.
So Luntz tricked Sean Hannity yesterday? Interesting.

Hannity is not that hard to “trick”. I wish I could buy him for what he’s worth and re-sale him for what he thinks he’s worth. I quit watching him when I came to realize that he is going to keep having his boyfriend, Karl Rove, on his show and I can’t stand the guy, so, I just quit watching his stupid show. Megyn got the little twerp’s time-slot on FOX because he was not “producing”. Megyn is MUCH better.... in more ways than one.
Trump should stick to the issues. Vets are an important GOP constituency and they didn’t like this remark, I understand the sentiment, McCain is a (insert any nasty name you like) but it wasn’t a politically smart thing to say and to most people it made Trump look bad, not good.
Facta non verba, Ronald Reagan’s motto.
Deeds not words, while Trump is saying some good things on immigration, I support candidates that have proven they are conservatives through their actions, Walker is my first choice. Cruz is another. They’ve acted, not just talked.
