Joe Scarborough just nailed the GOP's Donald Trump problem

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough wrote a lengthy Facebook post on Tuesday about real-estate magnate Donald Trump and whether the Republican establishment should challenge his controversial presidential campaign.

"Trump will always be Trump, and there is no need for anyone in the Republican establishment to think otherwise. The best they can do is ride this wave of dissatisfaction and learn a lesson or two from it," Scarborough wrote.

Scarborough, a former Republican congressman and host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," wrote that if front-running GOP candidates truly fear that Trump will harm their party, they should take it upon themselves to bring him down.

"But anyone looking for salvation from party leaders or major money players are looking in the wrong place. The burden of dethroning the Donald falls on GOP politicians like Jeb Bush, Scott Walker and others who have politely played by the old rules of an outdated political system that is no longer relevant to most Americans," he wrote. "The longer Trump's opponents play it safe, the longer Trump will continue his political ascent."

How about getting rid of Trump by espousing the issues that he brings attention to, the issues that people care about and that most GOP politicians, especially Jeb Bush and Rubio, seem to not give a darn about?

How about the GOP leaders in Congress stop acting like Obama’s enablers?

That would make Trump irrelevant. On the other hand, attacking him will only strengthen him and make the base even more disgusted with the GOPe.

Will Trump soon go back to being a Democrat, financing Democrats, and following their philosophy?

Very wrong.

If GOPe candidates suddenly come out swinging against Trump, they will be made to look like utter fools, ref. Linda. And it will be by their own actions.

They will suddenly undergo a character-shift and it won’t work. However, they can show how beaten they would be under a Dem regime and how easily upset they can become under mere verbal attack by a guy they characterize as “not real”, thus proving themselves unpresidential. Hillary wins.

I suspect she wins anyway.

I find it hilarious that the GOPe would consider going nuclear on Trump after 7 years of meekly acquiescing to the maoist whims of commie man-child Barack Obama.

They’d have to want to learn a lesson to learn a lesson. All they want to do is preserve what they’ve got: a big house in a swanky NYC/DC radius, kids in the private school away from icky working-class shlubs, a vast income and lots of immigrant pool boys and gardeners. Until they lose that, they’re not going to learn nothin’.

Probably, as soon as he stops the internationalists, corporatists, and amnesty advocates from destroying America.

I foresee an independent effort. More power to the Donald. If the GOPe can’t handle him, they have ZERO chance against the Hildabeest. Of course, they know and embrace that.

Yeah.... can’t you just see the day after Trump is elected president. He sits down with Bohener and says... “YOU’RE FIRED.”

Playing it safe? Exactly. Most of the GOPE thinks we do not know how they operate.

They would be wrong in that assumption. We know they want amnesty and we know their idea of closing the border is not acceptable. Nobody believes them anymore.

It's odd if you assume there is a set of principles that the GOPe espouses. I'm afraid the party has degenerated into a club of career politicians who for the most part are concerned with re-election and post-political career opportunities. If that's the dominant reality, their actions (or lack thereof) make perfect sense.

Why put that “if” in there?

If they were smart they’d be looking to score points with the voters by laying out compelling unwavering stands on issues and by attacking democrats

Not by throwing hissy fits over Trump’s blunt one liners

When the GOP pathetically does the bidding of the corrupted press and piles on Trump, all they do is make themselves part of the problem Trump is revealing

Take down democrats you idiots, not republicans
Remember Reagan’ s 11 th commandment

And yeah Trump has become the red headed step child of the GOP so play nice, take the higher road when it is appropriate, like Trump learn to use humor as a political tactic, and always remember who is your real enemy

The problem for the Rinos is they are peaches and cream to Obama and the dems and raving shout down maniacs towards conservatives - the majority of Republicans.

This article is Demonrats and one big fat loser “strategist” who worked with McBackstabber, telling Republicans what they should do to win. Their advice and agenda now has Evangelicals staying home from elections and says nothing while Obama turns into a fanged racist who hates whites. Let’s listen to them.

Now why would Trump go independent when he has just taken over the Republican Party? Do think the Republicans are so stupid they would kick Trump out of the Convention if he had a commanding lead going in?

There is a problem with this ‘will he return to his Democratic roots’ or Trump is not one of us. If this were really true, we’d see the Dems running to join him. We don’t. They, the Dem party folks, just like the Rep party folks, fear him. Trump understands what bothers Americans and his has seized on this. It really is a natural for him. He’s found a perfect role and this is his chance to do something about it. His age, point in his career and life is simply perfect timing. I really take him for where he is today, recognize and appreciate where he was. I don’t expect he’ll be a zealous conservative, he will be anything but conservative on many issues, but that is life. He is 100% no-compromise American. That trumps it all. Besides, unless he plays emperor, he has to negotiate with Congress. I’m tired of politicians running things. Time will tell if Trump can sustain and deliver, but I’ll give him a chance. His success so far in life is unmatched by our politicians, who he has so welcomely trumped in the campaign.
