McCain on Military Budget Cuts: ‘This Madness Must Stop’
Free Beacon ^ | June 23, 2015 | Thomas Novelly

Senate Armed Services Chairman John McCain (R., Ariz.), said the declining size of active duty Marines will struggle as they confront new threats due to decreases in military spending during a nomination hearing on Thursday Morning.

“The combination of budget cuts, force reductions, and rising demands on our Marines has reduced readiness, lengthened deployments, cut training and time at home with families, and put the Marine Corps under considerable strain,”McCain said. “This madness must stop.”

The committee met on Thursday to consider the nomination of Lieutenant General Robert B. Neller to be general and commandant of the Marine Corps. Sen. McCain used his opening statement to criticize the reduction of the number of Marines abroad.

“Over the last few years, the Marine Corps has been cut from 202,000 active duty Marines in 2012, to 184,000 today. Over the next two years, the Marine Corps will fall to 182,000. And if sequestration returns again, we will be left with 174,000 Marines, a force ill-prepared and ill-equipped to respond to a crisis or major contingency.”

McCain acknowledged the significant impact the Marines have against threats on a global stage and said their job will be tougher as resources and fighting strength decrease.

“Our nation is counting on the forward presence, strategic agility, power projection, and rapid response that are the Marine Corps’hallmarks,” McCain said. “But as we confront the realities of a more dangerous world, drastic reductions in defense spending are forcing our Marines to take on a growing set of missions with fewer and fewer resources.”

Captive, hero, POW, RINO, nut job. Any one of those phrases defines McCain. He has said, done crazy things, things that have been emphatically wrong, emphatically stupid.

I'll take a crazy guy like MCai who says it like it is, who occasionally speaks God's honest truth, than a ranking politician who pussyfoots with the truth. McCain is a flawed politician. But where he's got it right is to say, "This Madness must Stop!". Do you know that many Marines must be deployed on foreign ships because of budget cuts?

"This Madness Must Stop" because it originates in the mind of a mad man. President Obama. These military cuts have one single sole purpose. To diminish the power of the US, to weaken us on the world stage, so that the plans and objectives that spawn inside the pathological brain of Barry Sotero can come to fruition.

“This madness must stop.”

The same can be said of the illegal alien inundation that McAmnesty has encouraged and assisted.

He is at least right about this but the madness goes beyond the military cuts. I’ve spoken to young men in the service... they are lower than whale stuff.

Personally, I feel like I am waiting on something. The end of something. There is a general air of foreboding and I don’t know for what reason. It has been lurking for months and it is settling in this week for some reason. Others have said similar this week. It is more than the summertime blues from the heat and the dry here in Texas.

Nothing looks good, feels good, sounds good or anything good. Certainly nothing feels normal.

Something is wrong. Is it just me or are others feeling beat down?

Is Juan worried there won’t be enough transgender treatment money for our newest military members?

This is just lip service, IMO. McCain wanting attention.

McCain and his fellow RINOS have been and ARE in a position to put this right. But McCain and the other RINOS choose to suck the appendage of the pResident instead.

It is 2016. He is running this year. He’s always conservative when he runs for office in Arizona. It just disappears a few seconds after he wins, and stays away for the next 5 years...

Okay. If everyone is so cynical about what Mccain has to say, that he’s simply lonely and wants attention, that’s fine. Okay. Goodbye, MCcain. There are plenty of people seeking attention that people want to hear more about what they say, than you.

The pictures of 0 locking himself in the cockpit and taking the plane down seems to resonate with me concerning the state of affairs in this country.

The bad thing, it is almost like McCain and his cohorts locked the door on the way out of the cockpit.

I know what is wrong with me... It is a leading statement and question though to try to elicit some thoughts.

What it is is dread... that the knife is going to finally be plunged into the heart of the US.

The same thing could be said about the Iran treaty but McCain supported Corker.

Barry Soetoro is trying to bring us down.
John McCain took a dive in 2008 and has assisted him since.

AND he told us we had nothing to worry about.

McOrc has taken Drunk Teddy’s spot as most despicable U.S. Senator.

Senate Armed Services Chairman John McCain

Whatever happened to the moniker "The Maverick" John McCain?

Oh wait, he was the go to boy whenever the MSM wanted dirt on President Bush's administration......and continued that meme during McCain's entire primary run and ultimate presidential campaign.

Strangely, "The Maverick" moniker has never again been mentioned by the MSM following his loss.

Oddly enough, neither has Haliburton been mentioned following the end of V.P. Cheney's service to our country..........They're still there and they're still doing the alleged evil stuff that Cheney was responsible for.......LOL!

IF McShamey hadn’t been such a piss poor candidate in 2008 then he wouldn’t have to be crying crocodile tears now.

He has not done well by our vets. He really has not done much in the way of DOD budgets.

Don’t kid yourself. He is a self serving fool

Bingo. Plus Trump called him out on his continuous inaction on veterans and military issues so he needs to get a sound bite out there about how frustrated and upset he is, to justify said inaction.
