When your leaders worship Satan in this day and age coincidences like this just seem to happen more often. I’ve noticed many evildoers have what I refer to as gypsy luck where it seems like they are protected by a Satanic force: Things like leaving a place immediately before they were about to be captured, police officer gets a call to go to another emergency right before before he is about to stop someone carrying contraband, they get alerted to an ongoing investigation about their activities because they happen to be in the right place at the right time and overhear someone talking about them, etc...things like that.
Gypsy luck, or Satanic protection.
Now if the person in fact later repents, such events may also reflect divine mercy in the lead-up to what has now become a saint.
But anyhow in cases like this, God can also arrange to let the devil bring calamity. The devil might view this as “welcoming the person home” (even though he ends up in hell, it will be with this person there too as yet another slave).
