Boise, Idaho. Did the citizens of Boise “provoke” Fazliddin Kurbanov? Did they draw cartoons of Muhammad? Did they “poke Muslims in the eye”?
“Informant: Terrorism suspect named Boise as possible attack target,” by Katie Terhune, KTVB, July 27, 2015:
BOISE –A confidential FBI source testified Monday that Boise may have been among the intended targets of terrorism suspect Fazliddin Kurbanov.
The informant met Kurbanov in January 2013 at a truck-driving school in Salt Lake City, Utah. The suspect had gone there in hopes of getting a job, while the informant had been planted in the class by the FBI.
The FBI source said Kurbanov told him he wanted to detonate a bomb at a public park during a Fourth of July celebration.
The suspect allegedly said a Boise park would make a good target due to the crowds and high number of military families that would be in attendance.
“All those people, they bring their families,” the informant testified Kurbanov told him. “In Boise, Idaho there’s a lot of military families. They bring their families to show (them) the fireworks.”
Ann Morrison Park, which hosts Boise’s fireworks show and all-day activities, drew thousands of people on Independence Day this year.

My son's unit is based out of there. So this particular story is very personal for me.
We've got to stop letting people like this into our country. It's national suicide.

10 Years ago we saw and heard about guys from the Middle East, 5 to a tractor trailer, all with the same license, driving around the country. They cut holes in the floors of the truck so they never had to stop except for fuel.
Wife and I were in N. GA on the morning of 911. We were waiting for our shower in the TV room. The reports had been on all morning, but the showed the first pictures of the Jet flying into the tower about 9:30-10:00 am. There was an audible gasp among the drivers, and 6-7 Middle eastern looking men got up almost at once, and walked out of the Truck Stop. A couple of them were Sikh (turbans) but they all knew what happened before we did.
I’m surprised they haven’t set one off yet.
Makes you wonder just where else these guys have been "planted".
We better wake the eff up in this country.

I was deployed to Uzbekistan in 2004. They seemed OK & mostly secular, but there are the Islamonuts like anywhere else. These have been suppressed or driven into exile by the dictator Karimov. This jihadi could be one of those.
Central Asia reminded me of Idaho. Seems that most Uzbeks who come here gravitate to the Pacific Northwest. The educated ones prefer New York & other urban sites.

They were probably afraid of being killed right there and then. Because that is what might have happened in their home countries if they had been of the same ethnic/religious group as terrorists suspected of a major mass casualty attack. Wouldn't have been right, but that's the kind of mentality there. In Gujarat, 58 dead Hindu pilgrims triggered communal violence that resulted in 1000 dead Muslims and Hindus. Given the possibility of tens of thousands of dead in the Twin Towers, I think they decided that discretion was the better part of valor.
Another way of putting this is that they assume that (some) Americans will by default blame (and summarily kill) anyone of the ethnic or religious group that perpetrates a mass casualty attack. Because that kind of thing happens in their home countries to a far greater degree than in the West.
No question. We didn’t see much of them for months afterward. They would take care of business in the middle of the night, etc.
