GUN-CONFISCATION FEARS LEAD TO PROTEST IN NORTHERN IDAHO

BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A group of residents in northern Idaho lined up outside a U.S. Navy veteran's house on Thursday to protest claims that federal officials are planning on confiscating the man's weapons.

Idaho Republican state Rep. Heather Scott of Blanchard said the Veteran Affairs office has sent a letter to John Arnold of Priest River warning him that he cannot possess or purchase firearms.

The protest -spearheaded by Scott- attracted roughly 100 people. Among them were Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler, who promised to stand guard against any federal attempts to remove Arnold's guns, and Republican Washington state Rep. Matthew Shea of Spokane Valley, who described the event as a "defiance against tyranny."

"I took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and uphold the laws of Idaho," Wheeler said. "This seemed appropriate to show my support. I was going to make sure Mr. Arnold's rights weren't going to be breached."

This Federal government is completely out of Constitutional control. I’ll say it: it’s time for the people to restore or replace it. But that can’t happen without a lot of blood, tears, and pain.

I wonder if there is a potential to be Clive Bundy 2?

Thanks Jim. You beat me to it! Hope this gets resolved. Priest River is the wrong place to push this stuff.

So if the person can’t manage their finances they lose their right to defend himself? That could be extended to half the population.

I am glad they are defending this veteran.

Where’s the impetus for these new measures?

How many vets have been out there abusing their gun rights?

This is such a trumped up B. S. attack on veterans gun rights.

Considering Commander Xero’s background and proclivities, I am somewhat surprised we haven’t seen a Waco or Ruby Ridge equivalent so far, at least not of which I am aware.

Yes it is. Definitely the wrong place. Had no idea this was going on. Will look into it. Enough is enough.

I agree with you.

My assessment of that is this. Why make waves when you’re achieving everything you want behind the scenes?

They’ve been cornering the market on ammunition. They’re getting laws passed at the state level in places like California, to inhibit guns and specialty clips and the like.

I think this anti-veteran thing will blow up in their faces, and it’s something that kind of exemplifies my point.

Look at that rancher they backed off on a few years back. Smart move. They didn’t get away with it in broad daylight so they moved to something else they could.

The federal government cannot manage its finances at all.

It can’t even pass a yearly budget and is close to 20 trillion in debt, not to mention unfunded liabilities which exceed the amount of money that exists on Earth.

As such, the federal government should be disqualified from possessing any weapons.

There was another Waco in Waco. It supposedly wasn't over guns, but a parking lot fight that led to 9 dead, roughly 20 wounded, 177 arrested on identical charges and held on 1 million dollars bail each. No one is sure how many of the dead were killed by police (autopsy info still not released), and the Feds were there, too.

The local spokesperson for the police was one of a team which got a commendation for its work in the aftermath of the Mt. Carmel massacre.
